Her World Golf goes Regional.
First Women’s Magazine to Launch Regional Golfing Event
Singapore, 8 June 2007 - SPH Magazines Pte Ltd´s Her World magazine, the leading woman´s magazine, will be holding its annual Her World Golf Challenge on the 22 June 2007. Her World is the first and only women´s magazine to organize an all female golfing event, and this event, presented by Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation ("HSBC") is much anticipated by its readers and advertisers.
Her World will tee-off this regional event together with countries like Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia, besides Singapore. The response for its inaugural challenge last year was so overwhelming that the organizer for the Singapore´s series decided to have two sessions, morning and afternoon, instead of just one, to cater to more ladies interested to participate this time round.
Rachel Tan, Her World’s Editor enthused: " The response within the first week was so good that one session for 144 players was immediately filled. It was clear from the overwhelming response from our inaugural tournament last year that our readers love a good game. So, this time round, we upped the stakes to give them a real treat. It was also natural given Her World’s regional presence in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, besides Singapore, that we extend the field of play further afield for our golf tournament this year. We hope some day this will be one of the definitive women’s golf events in this part of the world."
Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation ("HSBC") is Her World Golf Challenge Asian Series Singapore’s proud presenter of this year´s competition. Appreciating the growing trend of affluent lady golfers among its ready clientele who have great spending power, HSBC saw the significance to tap on SPH Magazines to reach out to this burgeoning sports populace.
The top 2 winners of the Her World Golf Challenge in Singapore will not only receive great prizes by sponsors, but get a chance to compete in HSBC´s very own women´s tournament in Shanghai. Prizes also include a brand new Chrysler PT Cruiser for the Hole-in-One winner, and other prizes by various sponsors.
The Asian series will start in Thailand on 15 June 2007, followed by Singapore´s on 22 Jun 2007, then in Indonesia on 29 June 2007 and end off in Malaysia on 13 July 2007.

A team of Medical experts will be present at the event providing free consultation services for the participants. Participants will also be able to learn the proper warm up exercises to prevent injuries from the golf physiotherapists. The screening and assessment programme is designed for golfers who want to stay fit and protect their bodies as they play the game.

Her World Golf Carnival
As part of the series, Her World Golf Carnival will also be organized for public´s participation, and to increase the awareness of golf. This event will be held at the Marina Square from 6 to 8 July 2007.
