SPH has benefited from the support of the community and wants
to reciprocate by helping to build strong communities and
encouraging its employees to contribute to public service.
As part of its efforts to connect with young readers, The
Straits Times organises the School Holiday Programme, which
is a hit with students.
The SPH Chinese Newspapers Division also organises a host
of activities to reach out to the young audience and to promote
greater appreciation of the Chinese culture. These include
inter-school activities such as cross talk, story telling,
folk song singing, essay reading, calligraphy, essay writing
and debating competitions.
