As the nation's leading news and infotainment provider, SPH
is an active corporate citizen and firmly believes that it
has a social responsibility to foster community spirit.
On November 26, 2002, SPH announced plans to set up a charity
foundation as part of its broadening corporate social responsibility
to help build a learning community in Singapore. With an initial
seed of S$20 million, the Press Foundation of Singapore was
established in January 2003 to support projects in education
and language enrichment, and to promote creativity and healthy
living. The Foundation was subsequently renamed the Singapore
Press Holdings Foundation in May 2005. For more information
about the Foundation, please click

Presently, SPH supports and contributes to various programmes
in the key areas of language and the Arts, community and sports,
conservation, and charity. In recognition of the Group's dedication
to make our society more vibrant culturally and intellectually,
SPH has been named the Distinguished Patron of the Arts by
the National Arts Council every year since 1993.
In 2005, SPH launched the SPH Gift of Music series, a popular concert series for
Singapore audiences, featuring musical talents from the SSO, SCO as well as various local and foreign
musicians at performances in the heartlands, parks, hospitals and hospices and tertiary institutions. Please click here for concert calendar.
