The Information Resource Centre (IRC) has one of the largest newspaper collections in Southeast Asia. Its extensive archive includes information from all SPH newspapers, dating back to 1845 when the first issue of The Straits Times was published.

The primary focus of the IRC is to service SPH staff, especially the journalists. However, where resources permit, the IRC contents and services may also be made available to members of the public for research purposes. Such accesses are strictly by appointment only, between 9am and 5pm on weekdays. Fees for the usage of IRC facilities range from $15 to $40 per hour. Separate charges are applicable for photocopy, printout and downloading services, ranging from $2 to $20 per item. Please note that the charges are reviewed periodically.
