Singapore, 17 May 2017 – The SPH Charity Carnival, an annual charity bazaar organised by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), will be held on 22 May 2017 at the SPH News Centre Auditorium from 11am to 3pm. The event, back for the seventh year, provides a platform for various SPH divisions and subsidiaries, as well as local charities, to raise awareness and funds for 26 charitable causes. This year, 14 local charities will be selling an assortment of handicrafts and baked goods, mostly made by beneficiaries. These charities are: Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES), Action for Singapore Dogs, AMK FSC Bakery Hearts, Assisi Hospice, Association for Persons with Special Needs (APSN), Bizlink Centre, CARE Singapore, Cat Welfare Society, Down Syndrome Association, Salvation Army, Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprises (SCORE), Singapore National Paralympic Council (SNPC) and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). In addition, 12 SPH divisions and subsidiaries will also be setting up booths to sell food and pre-loved items at the carnival to raise funds for their adopted charities.
