GET READY TO BE EYEBALLED THIS SATURDAY

August 10, 2000 - Still don't know what Project Eyeball
is about? Then, come down to the heart of Orchard Road to experience
the "eye-popping" launch of the latest newspaper in town.
Singapore Press Holdings' eleventh newspaper, Project Eyeball, an
innovative morning tabloid targeted at the net-savvy generation,
will hit the streets on 12 August 2000
From 12 noon to 6 pm, this Saturday, free copies of the 64-page
bumper launch issue of Project Eyeball will be given out on Orchard
Road at the Shaw House amphitheatre - along with games, entertainment
and prizes amounting $20,000 to create an "eye-opening"
sampling experience.
Pick up a free copy of Project Eyeball and be treated to latest
movies, with complimentary soft drink and popcorn at Lido Cineplex,
for just $5 a person. The movies include "The Patriot",
"Rules of Engagement", "Maybe Baby" and "Scary
Movie"; as well as a chance to win the latest Creative Technology
MP3 players.
Or come dress up as an Eyeball and win cash prizes of $200, $300
and $500 in our hourly "Eyeball Connotate" contest - where
the best version of an eyeball in the form of a drawing, poem or
any other creative expression will win.
Live music performances by local bands and celebrities like John
Klass and Livonia, dance items and fashion shows will also be on
the list of activities to entertain the crowd.
That's not all. In your free copy of Project Eyeball, there are
cut-out redemptioncoupons for free coffee, ice-cream or a discounted
meal at selected Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Coffee Club Xpress,
Delifrance, Dome and Haagen Dazs at each selected outlet. These
redemption offers are limited to first 1000 customers; while at
Haagen Dazs, the offer is limited to first 2000 customers for each
of its two selected outlets.
"We are printing 120,000 copies of Eyeball to be distributed
free on Saturday and the first five weekdays. The Project Eyeball
team is all revved-up and ready to eyeball our audience with the
launch issue on Saturday. Although we are confident that readers
will like our paper, we are still ready to listen to our readers,"
