Streats Launches
Afternoon Edition
Singapore, 8 March 2004 Streats, the first freesheet in
Singapore, will launch an afternoon edition from Monday, 8 March 2004.
The afternoon edition will be available at selected locations in
the business district, carrying fresh news and updates on the front
page, financial, global and sports pages. Readers will be able to
get a quick snapshot of on-going developments, particularly in the
European and US economies, while advertisers now get two bites for
the price of one, with their messages in the morning and afternoon
editions.
Paul Jansen, Editor of Streats, said the afternoon edition is "another
product enhancement we are embarking on, based on the demand from
both readers and advertisers.
Commenting on the continuing inroads made by Streats since its relaunch
in November 2002, he said: Readership has climbed from 324,000
to 392,000 year-on-year, with a high proportion of professionals,
businessmen, executives and managers. They now comprise 34 per cent
of the readership, up from 28 per cent. This reinforces our Who
Reads Wins focus, where Streats strives daily to capture our
readers attention with not just what the news is about, but
also who are the prime movers behind events.
Tham Khai Wor, Senior Executive Vice President of Marketing at SPH,
said that advertising support for Streats has also grown steadily.
"We are heartened by the fact that more advertisers and agencies
are incorporating Streats into their media mix, and finding that
this has delivered good results," said Tham.
