Clarification in relation to The Bangkok Post and The Nation reports

The Bangkok Post and the Nation carried reports on 29 June 2004, claiming that Singapore Press Holdings Ltd ("SPH") has expressed interest in joining a consortium led by Thai entertainment mogul, Paiboon Damrongchaitham of GMM Grammy plc, to bid for a 30% stake in UK Liverpool Football Club.

SPH has clarified that there is no truth in the Bangkok Post and the Nation reports. Mr Paiboon has also issued a statement last night to the Thai media clarifying that the Singapore party with whom he had been discussing in relation to the bid of a stake in Liverpool Football Club was not SPH.
