Press statement on Telekom Malaysia
Berhad Acquisition of stake in MobileOne Limited
SINGAPORE, 17 AUGUST 2005 - In response to media queries
on Telekom Malaysia Bhd's (TM) announcement to acquire some MobileOne
Limited (M1) shares, Singapore Press Holdings, which owns a 14.1%
stake in M1, issued the following statement:
"SPH had been in discussion with TM regarding its stake in
M1, and has decided not to sell at this time.
"We welcome TM's entry as a strategic partner in M1. SPH looks
forward to working closely with TM and Keppel Telecommunications
and Transportation Limited to enhance the value of M1."
