«优1周» 亮丽登场
UW - Singapores First Hybrid Entertainment, Lifestyle &
Social News Magazine
Singapore, 9 December 2005 - A BIG change is coming your
way this month!
Come December 13, 优周刊 or You-Weekly, the Chinese entertainment
and lifestyle weekly published by media group Singapore Press Holdings
Ltd, will be revamped and renamed 优1周 or UW in English.
UW, which is twice bigger than its predecessor You-Weekly, will
be Singapore's biggest entertainment magazine when it hits the market.
Apart from the obvious change in size, the revamped magazine also
gets a major face-lift. The stunning new design is more vibrant
and its content more newsy. The magazine puts together the hottest
current affairs, together with the juiciest and most sizzling entertainment
news in the region.
Social news, a new element not found in a conventional entertainment
magazine, will be featured in addition to the usual news on entertainment
and lifestyle trends, which have been the highlights of the Chinese
magazine. Human-interest stories will form an integral part of the
magazine content, packaged into an easy-to-read "capsule"
format. Readers who are more into social issues can also look forward
to news buzz, news features and heartwarming stories in the weekly
magazine.
UW will also be expanding its lifestyle content to include sports,
health, personal wealth management and much more! As for entertainment,
fans of the previous You Weekly can expect more exciting updates
on the entertainment scenes in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.
"UW or 优1周 in Chinese means "an excellent week".
Living up to its name, it is our commitment to produce an excellent
and enjoyable magazine for our readers, said Chee Li Foong,
Chief Editor of UW.
UW - Singapores first hybrid entertainment, lifestyle and
social news magazine - is targeted at Clever Shoppers,
both male and female who are open-minded and have a passion for
life. UW offers the hottest shopping tips for discerning shoppers
who want to get the best deals in town.
UW, which will be launched on Dec 13 (Tuesday), is priced at $2.
The magazine will be available at all leading newsstands, bookstores,
convenience stores, supermarkets and petrol kiosks across the island.
Subsequent issues will be released every Wednesday.
