About the Role
Associate Editor (Chinese Content), NÜYOU
Think social-first. Lead with confidence. Create content that matters – in Chinese and English.
NÜYOU is Singapore's go-to Chinese lifestyle brand for millennial women navigating career, style, and modern life. Our audience is bilingual – reading, engaging, and living in both English and Mandarin daily, and our content meets them where they are: across languages, across platforms, always authentic. We are looking for an Associate Editor who thinks, writes, and creates in both.
What You'll Actually Do:
You’ll be the Editor's strategic partner and the team's creative leader. Your mission? Commission and edit content that stops the scroll, sparks conversation, and drives real engagement across digital and social platforms (yes, print still exists, but we're digital-first all the way).
Lead the Team
- Manage and mentor the editorial team to deliver sharp, relevant content that resonates with millennial women
- Run editorial meetings and strategy sessions that actually move the needle
- Work hand-in-hand with the Editor to shape content direction and hit our digital targets
Own the Content
- Commission freelancers and assign stories that capture what our audience is already talking about – or should be
- Edit across platforms: social, digital, video, and print
- Spot trends before they peak and turn them into content opportunities fast
Think Commercial
- Develop branded content and sponsorships that feel authentic
- Partner with sales teams to create campaigns that drive revenue while keeping audience trust intact
- Understand that great content can be both engaging and commercially smart
Who We Are Looking for:
- 5+ years in digital/women's media with proven experience creating content that performs
- Fluent in Chinese and English – you write and edit confidently in both, with strong Chinese proficiency
- A social media native who understands what makes content shareable, not just readable
- Leadership chops – you've managed teams or are ready to step up
- Data-savvy – you know your way around analytics, SEO, and CMS platforms
- Commercially minded – you get that content and revenue goals can (and should) work together
- Organised and nimble – you thrive managing multiple deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
