RedAnts ( 红蚂蚁) is a Chinese online media platform focusing on viral topics of current affairs that are of interest to the Chinese community in Singapore. It is a fully owned subsidiary of SPH Media Trust (Chinese Media Group).

We are looking for suitable candidates to join our editorial team as a Digital Journalist.

The Job

• Curate, package, and produce engaging content tailored for Chinese-language users in Singapore and internationally.
• Conduct news sensing and research to create written and visual stories, as well as analytical pieces, in a clear, concise, and compelling style.
• Generate original content through face-to-face interviews and investigative journalism.
• Leverage understanding of media consumption patterns in social media across the Greater China region to generate content suitable for WeChat and Xiaohongshu.
• Familiarity with popular online media platforms in China; experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
• Actively promote and market content across designated digital platforms and social media channels.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, with 3-4 years of experience in news journalism 
• Effectively bilingual in Chinese and English, with good writing skills as this is for a Chinese publication
• Strong interest in daily news and current affairs, including knowledge of events in China and Mandarin-speaking regions
• Excellent news sense and analytical skills assess and customise content and writing style for diverse target audiences
• Experience in social media data points, CMS system, Google Analytics, as well as familiarity with Chinese social media platforms such as WeChat, Weibo, Toutiao, TikTok, etc is an advantage.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments and adapt to various tasks efficiently
• Effective time management and organizational skills to consistently meet deadlines
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and handle time-sensitive assignments
• Ability to work independently and as a team player
