Exciting CNY content lined up for Lianhe Zaobao and zaobao.sg, including free access to premium content

Singapore, 25 January 2022 -- To welcome the Year of the Tiger, Lianhe Zaobao has lined up a series of entertaining content for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

zaobao.sg’s CNY interactive microsite (bit.ly/zbsg_cny2022), launched in January, allows readers to access exclusive live-streams and news articles about Chinese zodiac predictions, delicious CNY recipes and tech-savvy tips to celebrate the lunar festival.

A highlight of this year’s CNY special content on zaobao.sg is the CNY live-stream series. The series features the unboxing of CNY goods, fortune predictions for the 12 Chinese zodiacs, cooking shows with guest chefs to whip up CNY delicacies and an online CNY concert. Another highlight is the free premium content on zaobao.sg from 31 January to 3 February 2022.


Zaobao.sg launches first online CNY bazaar

With the current Covid-19 situation, large-scale CNY bazaars are not allowed. Readers who miss visiting the bustling bazaars can check out the various virtual stalls at zaobao.sg's online CNY bazaar. For instance, the microsite’s Food Stall offers CNY recipes and articles on traditional Chinese foods while the Zodiac Stall shares fortune predictions. Readers can watch exclusive CNY live programmes and their re-runs at the Livestream Stall. Readers can also view heartfelt CNY greetings from familiar local and regional celebrities.

The CNY Goodies Stall features original zaobao.sg CNY stickers for the Year of the Tiger for Telegram, Whatsapp and WeChat users. Live-stream shows to engage audiences

zaobao.sg has been broadcasting live-stream shows every Wednesday and Friday at 8.00pm from 5 to 28 January 2022. Some of these live programmes include searching and unboxing of interesting CNY goodies and Chinese Zodiac predictions by senior feng shui masters who share tips on improving one’s luck and fortune. Coming up next will be a virtual concert featuring popular CNY songs on 28 January 2022.  Performers include past winners of UFM100.3’s "Radio Singer" competition "Old Uncle" and local singer-songwriter Lin Si Tong (feat. La Vie Music).

Free access to zaobao.sg’s premium content over CNY

Readers will be given free access to all content on zaobao.sg from Monday, 31 January 2022 (eve of CNY) to Thursday, 3 February 2022. (third day of CNY).

Premium content will be made available to all readers, including non-subscribers, on zaobao.sg’s website and mobile application. The premium content will also include access to the past 14 days of Lianhe Zaobao and Shin Min Daily News ePapers.
