Group CEO, Co-founder and Chairman of Grab named Businessman of the Year at 41st Singapore Business Awards
Singapore, 21 May 2026 - Group CEO, Co-founder and Chairman of Grab, Mr Anthony Tan, was named the Businessman of the Year at the 41st Singapore Business Awards (SBA), jointly organised by The Business Times (BT) and DHL, for his forward-thinking stewardship and unwavering commitment to Southeast Asia’s socio-economic transformation.
In steering Grab’s evolution from a taxi-booking app into the region’s leading superapp, Mr Tan has been a catalyst for progress, championing digital inclusion and economic empowerment. Through the GrabForGood Fund, he further strengthens communities with dedicated programmes in education, community care, and disaster relief.
Four other awards were also presented during the SBA gala dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Chan Chun Sing, Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence:
- Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year - Mr Kerry Mok, President and CEO of SATS Ltd
For his exemplary leadership in navigating SATS through a period of significant challenge and the strategic foresight behind the acquisition of Worldwide Flight Services. This landmark initiative accelerated the transformation of SATS into a global multinational corporation, nearly tripling revenue and extending its operational footprint from APAC to EMEA and the Americas. Through disciplined integration and a commitment to operational excellence, Mr Mok has successfully established the group as a preeminent global air cargo powerhouse.
- Outstanding Overseas Executive of the Year - Ms Jane Sun, CEO of Trip.com Group
For her leadership in building a worldwide eco-system for travel and growing Trip.com Group into a US$50 billion company. Ms Sun is a staunch advocate for talent development, gender equality and education, and has also leveraged her influence across prestigious international councils to promote sustainable development and social impact.
- The Enterprise Award - Old Chang Kee
For its resilience and enduring contribution to Singapore’s food heritage. From its beginnings as a curry puff stall in 1956, it has grown into an iconic brand with over 100 outlets across Singapore and overseas in Indonesia, Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
- Young Business Leader of the Year - Mr Eric Leong, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Mlion Corporation Pte Ltd
For his exceptional entrepreneurial spirit in scaling Mlion into a global steel solutions provider with presence across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Mr Leong has successfully disrupted a legacy industry by integrating technological innovations to drive operational efficiency and sustainability.
