SPH Media’s Focus Publishing has launched the Chinese edition of the book, “George Yeo: Musings” Series One,《杨荣文:凝思集》第一辑 on 24 February 2023 at SPH Media News Centre Auditorium.
Mr George Yeo, a Visiting Scholar at Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, NUS and a Cabinet Minister from 1990 - 2011, shares his hopes and aspirations for Singapore in this 388-page book. The book was translated by Ms Chow Wan Ee, a Singaporean translator and simultaneous interpreter based in Beijing, to reach out to the Chinese community.
This newly-minted Chinese edition by Focus Publishing, contains photographs from Mr Yeo’s private collection and news photos, as well as an exclusive picture of a young Mr Yeo touring the old Nantah campus with his mother and relatives.
The book retails at $27.50 (before GST) from 1 March 2023 at major bookstores, and is available online at Amazon.sg and Lianhe Zaobao’s zshop.
About George Yeo: Musings
Together with writer Mr Woon Tai Ho and Research Assistant Mr Keith Yap, Mr Yeo shares his thoughts in this series on various topics including himself, his hope for Singapore, the importance of human diversity and Singapore’s reflection within itself of the world. The series presents his thoughts on history, politics, economics, philosophy, taiji gong and religion. Also included are Mr Yeo’s views on India, China, ASEAN, Europe, the US and other parts of the world, and how Singapore's history and destiny are connected to all of them.
The English editions of “Musings” Series One and Two were published by World Scientific Publishing Co. in August 2022 and February 2023 respectively.

About Ms Chow Wan Ee, Translator of the Chinese edition
Ms Chow Wan Ee is a translator and simultaneous interpreter based in Beijing. A graduate of St. Nicholas Girls’ School and Hwa Chong Junior College, she holds a Bachelor’s degree from The National University of Singapore and a Master’s degree from the School of Translation and Interpretation of Beijing Foreign Studies University. She is also the translator of George Yeo’s “Bonsai, Banyan and the Tao (榕树下的沉思)”.
