Explore business opportunities at Franchising & Licensing Asia 2010

Singapore, 21 October 2010 – Companies and entrepreneurs hoping to grow their brands and expand their business overseas can visit Franchising & Licensing Asia (FLAsia) 2010 from 21 to 23 October. Organised by BizLink Exhibition Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), FLAsia 2010 is held at Exhibition Hall B, Level 1 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands.

Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry Mr S Iswaran was the Guest-of-Honour at this morning’s opening ceremony.

FLAsia 2010 has attracted over 160 top international franchises and brands from Australia, Japan, Italy, Russia, and United States. This year's exhibition covered a host of industries such as education, food & beverages and health & fitness, all of which are recognised as the fastest growing clusters in the franchising industry. It has also introduced new features such as country pavilions which showcases companies from the same country; and the Franchise and Retail Technology Zone, which offers IT and business solutions to help companies enhance their business efficiency.

For the first time in the event’s history, the International Symposium on Franchising, co-hosted with the International Franchise Association, will be held in conjunction with FLAsia 2010 on 21 to 22 October 2010. Participants can find out from global industry experts the best practices and insights on issues such as gaining entry into the Asian and American markets, securing financing for international ventures and protecting the business’ intellectual properties.

Last year’s event drew more than 10,600 local and overseas trade visitors, making FLAsia the most successful international show in this region for companies and entrepreneurs seeking prospective business partners and investors on franchising and licensing deals. To date, there are more than 3,000 local and foreign franchisees operating in Singapore, based on 500 franchise concepts.

FLAsia 2010 will be held from Thursday to Saturday, 21-23 October 2010, 10.30am to 6.30pm at Exhibition Hall B, Level 1 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands.

Admission to the FLAsia 2010 exhibition is free to the public (by registration).

Admission fee to the International Symposium on Franchising is $642 per person, which includes both the symposium and exhibition.
