Singapore, 10 November 2010 --- Life-sized dinosaurs will soon storm into Singapore with the Asian tour of Walking with Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular taking centrestage from 1 to 12 December at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Based on the award-winning BBC Television Series, the show, which originated in Australia, has already played to over 5.2 million people worldwide, breaking records in arenas in more than 142 cities globally. Presented by M1 in Singapore, the production is promoted by AEG ThemeSTAR in partnership with The Straits Times, the English flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH).
This stunning theatrical event depicts the dinosaur's evolution which led to the demise of the many species of dinosaurs. With almost cinematic realism, Walking with Dinosaurs will have scenes of interactions between dinosaurs, and the audience will see how carnivorous dinosaurs evolved to walk on two legs, and how the herbivores fended off their more agile predators. The audience is expected to be captivated by 20 life-sized dinosaurs, including the ferocious Tyrannosaurus Rex.
This S$25 million production has already won rave reviews worldwide. Apart from The Straits Times, the production in Singapore has also garnered the support of other SPH media including AsiaOne (Official Portal) and SPH MediaBoxOffice (Official Outdoor Media).
In addition, show promoter AEG ThemeSTAR has also partnered the SPH Staff Volunteers Club to bring 100 children from five homes - SunBeam Place, Life Community Services Society, St Andrew's Autism School, REACH Family Service Centre and Children's Cancer Foundation - to watch the spectacular production on 2 December.
Mr Mark Avery, CEO of AEG ThemeSTAR, said: "We're thrilled that the Singapore audience, both young and old, is able to enjoy this multi-million blockbuster production. It is even more meaningful that this group of less fortunate children can catch the show as a highlight of their school holidays."
