Readers’ Favourite Brands Celebrated at AsiaOne People’s Choice Awards 2010

Singapore, 9 March 2011 – Almost 100 brands and products were honoured at the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards 2010 presentation ceremony this afternoon.

Mr Teo Eng Cheong, Chief Executive Officer of International Enterprise Singapore, presented the awards to selected winners, including the highly-anticipated food categories.

 The winning brands represent AsiaOne readers' favourite products and services as they were voted most popular via an online poll.
The third annual awards is the largest to date, with 31 categories -- up from 25 last year.
Thirteen new categories were introduced after the organisers recognised the need to diversify the categories based on readers' feedback and popular response. Some of the new categories included health supplements, hair styling products, body care products and DSLR cameras.
After a round of nomination last October, in which some 3,360 products and services were nominated, 277 of the most popular ones were short-listed for voting.
The top five categories which received the most votes from the readers were Wellness Providers, Chinese Restaurants, Buffets, Private Schools and Asian Restaurants.
Some of the Top People’s Choice included the Crystal Jade Golden Palace, Paragon (Best Chinese Restaurants), Chan Brothers (Best Travel Agencies), Tatsuya Japanese Restaurant (Best Japanese Restaurants), and Canon PowerShot S95 (Best Compact Cameras).
Mr Adrian Tay, Editor, AsiaOne, said: “We would like to congratulate all winners, especially those which are first-time nominees. Through the awards, we hope to connect our trade partners and help strengthen their presence with our AsiaOne readers."

Bagging the top award three times consecutively in their respective categories were SIM (Best Private Schools) and POSB Everyday Card (Best Credit Cards).
AsiaOne readers also endorsed first-time nominees like Mary Chia Beauty and Slimming Specialist, OCBC NTUC Plus! Visa card, Ku DeTa, Studio M Hotel, and Kuriya Penthouse.
