Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011 Celebration Concert opens tonight at Singapore Indoor Stadium

Singapore, 2 April 2011 --- The celebration concert of Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA) 2011, Asia's biggest pop extravaganza, will be held tonight at the Singapore Indoor Stadium for the first time.

In its third year, SEA 2011 is jointly organised by Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese media including Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, and UW (U-Weekly).

Making their appearance at the star-studded celebration concert tonight are some of the hottest names in the Singapore and Asian entertainment industry. They include Se7en (Korea); Ella of S.H.E, Lollipop F, Alien Huang, Anthony Neely, SIGMA(Taiwan); Kit Chan, Huang Jing Lun, Derrick Hoh, Freshmen (Singapore), Namcha (Thailand) and Daydream (Malaysia).

Guest of Honour Mr Sam Tan Chin Siong, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, will be among the 8,000-strong audience to catch this mega concert.

The winners of the "Most Popular" and "Best" categories for SEA 2011 were announced earlier. A total of 2.3 million online and sms votes were cast for the "Most Popular" categories during the voting period as compared to over 400,000 online and SMS votes received last year.

In addition, a panel of local and international judges comprising SPH journalists and foreign media industry experts, has also picked the winners of the five prestigious awards, namely Outstanding Achievement Award (Movies), Outstanding Achievement Award (Music), Concert of the Year, Outstanding New Generation Artiste of the Year, and Artiste of the Year. The full list of winners is attached in Appendix 1.

There will also be a delayed telecast of the celebration concert cum award presentation on Starhub Channel 825 (E-City) on 22 April 8pm as well as Channel [V] Taiwan, an affiliate of Star Group (Taiwan). Over 5 million viewers from Singapore and Taiwan will be able to catch the delayed telecast of the show. Snippets of the concert will also be uploaded on and online viewers can catch behind the scenes and highlights of the show starting from 5pm, 2 April 2011.
