SPH Honoured at Singapore HR Awards 2011

Singapore, 12 August 2011 – Leading media group Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) was honoured with seven awards at the Singapore HR Awards 2011 held at the Ritz Carlton Millennia Singapore this evening.  This included the Corporate HR Award for its exceptional showing this year. 
SPH also received awards in the Leading HR Practices category for Talent Management, Retention & Succession Planning, Employee Relations & People Management, Learning & Human Capital Development (Special Mention), as well as awards in the Special Category for Corporate Social Responsibility, Workplace Safety & Health, and Fair Employment Practices. 
SPH won seven awards in the following categories –

Organised by the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI), the awards promote and recognise quality organisational HR practices and professionals in Singapore. A total of 43 organisations, ranging from SMEs, MNCs to the Public Sectors took part in this year’s Singapore HR Awards. 
SPH has won 14 HR awards and special mentions since it first took part in the Singapore HR Awards in 2007. In 2009, it clinched the  HR Advocate Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, which recognises organisations that have been conferred the Leading HR Practices Award for three years within a period of five consecutive years.  SPH also bagged the President's Social Service Award (PSSA) for its extensive corporate social responsibility efforts earlier this month.

In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Chinese and 91.3FM in English.
Events and Outdoor Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its latest retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
