NUYOU celebrates 35 years by collaborating with acclaimed Japanese designer for a good cause

Singapore, 5 September 2011 – Singapore’s leading Chinese Fashion & Beauty magazine celebrates its 35th Anniversary by giving to charity. The leading local Chinese fashion title has teamed up with MILK Fund (Mainly I Love Kids) to raise funds for underprivileged kids as part of its 35th Anniversary celebrations. 
Internationally acclaimed Japanese designer, Tsumori Chisato, has been invited to contribute a piece of her artwork that would resonate with the cause. The designer is best known for her signature whimsical and free spirited designs. 
For this charity drive, Tsumori’s design for NUYOU’s 35th Anniversary will be reproduced into limited edition ez-link card stickers and notebooks. These keepsake souvenirs will be sold at the charity booth at ION Square (outdoor atrium facing Orchard Road) from 10 - 18 September and all proceeds garnered from the sale of these stickers and notebooks will be fully pledged to the MILK Fund. The stickers are sold at $5 each and notebooks at $10 each. The NUYOU team together with celebrities such as Jesseca Liu and Kelly Poon will also make special appearances on 17 September.

This is a milestone for any magazine and we will continue to bring first-hand fashion updates to our readers for many more years to come.” 
Elaborating on the fund-raising initiative, Grace shared: "NUYOU, known for our discerning eye for beauty, recognises that beauty is not only skin deep nor restricted to aesthetic appeals. Rather, beauty represents an ideology of all things beautiful and these aspects include the spirit of giving and sharing.”
Dr Sheryn Mah, President of the MILK Fund, said: “MILK is happy to be the adopted beneficiary for the celebration. Our work involves low-income, disadvantaged children and their families and we are happy that they can benefit from the kind efforts of NUYOU and their partners." 
In conjunction with NUYOU’s support for MILK, Bonia and NU.U will be donating proceeds from the sale of selected bags and facial services. The public can purchase the bags from Bonia in Takashimaya Department Store and make an appointment for the facials at NU.U Paragon. 
To create more awareness surrounding the good cause, NUYOU is also partnering ION Orchard to place 80 specially designed seats wrapped in Tsumori’s prints across Ion Square. These prints will also be featured on Ion’s outdoor screen from 7 to 18 September.
To thank NUYOU’s readers for their unwavering support, its collectible September issue is an exciting package that features famous faces, beauty and lifestyle trends and collections. Built around the theme of its special edition September issue - “People & Cities”, an art exhibition featuring the works of renowned photographers such as John Clang, Wing Shya, Quentin Shih and Hong Jang Hyun, will also be held in ION Art from 7 to 9 September 2011. 
NUYOU has also invited six-year-old local artist, Gelyn Ong, recently seen on the Thye Hwa Kuan Medical charity show in September for raising more than $33,000 with her paintings, to create two paintings symbolising the good cause. These paintings will also be displayed as part of the "People & Cities" photography exhibition.
