SPHMBO Ranked Among Top Three By Marketers

Singapore, 28 September 2011 – Leading Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising company SPH MediaBoxOffice (SPHMBO) is among the top three companies in the industry when it comes to offering an effective media platform to reach the outdoor audience.
According to a recent survey by Marketing Magazine, SPHMBO is ranked third by marketers when it came to choosing the best OOH media platform to reach consumers. The company has steadily climbed up the top ten chart over the past two years with year-on-year improvements in rankings (ranked fifth in 2010, and eighth in 2009), putting it ahead of other digital media companies such as SMRT Media, MediaCorp’s OOH! Media, and Focus Media.
Both brand owners and agencies also felt that SPHMBO is the top OOH platform to reach property and consumer electronic buyers. Such accolades are fuelled by SPHMBO’s wide range of Digital OOH platforms, which give marketers the flexibility to reach specific target markets or multiple segments across Singapore with its 500 digital advertising screens.
In the first quarter of 2011, SPHMBO expanded its “Retail Network” to 200 screens in 23 shopping centres with note-worthy inclusions like Tampines One, Liang Court, White Sands, Tiong Bahru Plaza, Hougang Mall, Far East Plaza and My Village. The revamped Retail Network effectively reaches 3.1 million1 shoppers weekly with advertising messages at the point-of-purchase.
As the leader in digital OOH advertising, SPHMBO also manages eight large outdoor LED screens in strategic locations such as Orchard Road, Raffles Place and the heartlands, effectively reaching PMEBs, youth and affluent shoppers.
The Out-Of-Home Media Company of the Year 2011 survey was commissioned by Marketing Magazine and conducted by Boardroom Research. The objective of the survey was to uncover which outdoor company client marketers and agencies were most likely to use for their campaigns. The online survey was sent to an estimated 6,000 people and 376 respondents took part in the survey. Amongst the respondents, 68 per cent were brand owners and 32 per cent from advertising agencies. 28 per cent of respondents were Chief Executive Officers, Managing Directors, General Managers, Vice Presidents and Directors.
