Singapore, 22 March 2013 – Female, a publication by SPH Magazines, has collaborated with US cosmetic brand, Nars, to produce three different beauty covers for its April 2013 issue. This is the first time the magazine is featuring different magazine covers and also the first time it is collaborating with Nars.
Jeanette Ejlersen, Creative Editor of Female, said: “I’ve always wanted to do more conceptual covers. It is in our magazine’s DNA to be at the forefront of trends, to create buzz and to push new products. So it was a natural fit to pick Nars as a partner for our beauty covers. The two brands share the same sensibilities - fashion-forward, never predictable and always exciting.”
Candice Koh, Senior Brand Executive for Nars cosmetics, said: “I see Female as an alternative to mainstream notions of beauty and for making a bold statement. Nars has always been characterised by stylish advertising campaigns championed by François Nars himself, and with our first local cover – or should I say covers – we should do no less than that.”
Jeanette Ejlersen added: “For our three covers, we wanted to do three different looks with three different models. Most magazines tend to do one look with three girls, or three looks on one girl, when they do multiple covers. We were inspired by Nars’ runway looks this season – arresting colours with a seductively satin finish courtesy of the new Satin Lip Pencils. Together with makeup artist Clarence Lee, we created three distinct styles - Edgy, Pretty and Sexy.”
The three models gracing the magazine covers are dressed in Alexander Wang, Burberry Prorsum and Gucci.
The April issue of Female is available on newsstands from 22 March. The first 250 readers to present two of the three April covers at the Nars counter at Tangs Beauty Hall will receive an exclusive and complimentary tote-sized Nars makeup or skincare item, as well as an express lip makeover worth $50.
Redemption starts from 29 March. Only original covers from the print edition will be accepted. Items are not exchangeable and are redeemable while stocks last.
