Singapore, 22 March 2013 - The AsiaOne Adventure Race, organised by Singapore Press Holding’s online news portal AsiaOne, is back in its fifth season. The action-packed islandwide adventure race, which saw participants deciphering clues to reach various pit-stops and taking part in different challenges, was a big winner at the prestigious 2012 EPPY Awards last year, clinching the award for the Best in the Online Media Advertising/Media Campaign category.
The race is open to all adventurous individuals to pit their strengths and smarts against other thrill-seekers. In teams of fours (grouping will be done by the organiser), participants will gear up in their own cars, decode secret pit-stop destinations, conquer the interesting challenges and stand to win attractive prizes.
Due to the popularity of the “Single’s Edition” concept last year, this year’s race will adopt the same format with a slight twist - HOT FM91.3 DJs will pair up with single females selected from the pool of participants to form a "DJ Celebrity Team". There will be two "DJ Celebrity Teams" with each team comprising two HOT 91.3FM DJs and two single ladies to complete the race and vie for the top prize.
The prize value this year has also increased, with over $15,000 worth of prizes to be won, including $6,000 in cash, $5,400 worth of 313@Somerset shopping vouchers, tour packages to Philippines as well as Nikon cameras.
The winning team will walk away with a bigger prize package compared to last year - $4,000 in cash and $2,000 worth of shopping vouchers. Those who do not come in the top four positions will still stand a chance to win something. Each team that completes the race stands to win 313@Somerset shopping vouchers.
Mr Willy Tan, Assistant Vice President, Interactive Business Unit, SPH, said: "We are very honoured to bag a top win at the prestigious 2012 EPPY Awards for The AsiaOne Adventure Race. But winning awards is not the reason why we organise this event. We do it because we want to provide a fun day for AsiaOne's loyal readers and also to form meaningful partnerships with our generous sponsors."
The AsiaOne Adventure Race 5 is supported by Social Development Network and sponsored by 313@Somerset, Chjimes, Nikon, and Tourism Philippines with media partners HOT FM 91.3 and The Straits Times RazorTV.
