Top business leaders honoured at Singapore Business Awards 2013

Singapore, 4 April 2013 – Dr Loo Choon Yong, the Executive Chairman of the Raffles Medical Group, has been named Businessman of the Year 2012 in the latest Singapore Business Awards (SBA). 

Launched in 1985, the SBA has grown to be Singapore’s most prestigious business accolade. It is jointly organised by The Business Times, Singapore’s leading business daily; and DHL Express, the global market leader of the international express and logistics industry.

In addition to Businessman of the Year, the other awards in the SBA roll of honour are Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year, Outstanding Chief/Senior Executive (Overseas) of the Year and The Enterprise Award.

was the Guest-of-Honour at this evening's SBA 2013 presentation dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel. 

Mr Alvin Tay, Chairman of the SBA organising committee and Editor of The Business Times, said that this year’s winners acted on their vision, seized opportunities, innovated and upgraded their operations and succeeded in what they set out to do.

He said: “Over the last 28 years, the Singapore Business Awards have recognised the contributions of a wide array of business individuals and companies to the Singapore economy. They have continuously strived beyond excellence and achieved resounding success as proven market leaders in their industries. It is this indefatigable spirit of endeavour and perseverance that we honour in our winners tonight. The Singapore Business Awards (SBA) is jointly organised by The Business Times, Singapore’s leading business daily, and DHL Express Singapore, the world’s leading express and logistics company.
