The best of healthcare and beauty offerings at Lianhe Wanbao Health & Beauty Fair 2013

    Singapore, 30 April 2013 --- The annual Lianhe Wanbao Health & Beauty Fair, organised by Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao, will be held this weekend on 4 and 5 May 2013 at Marina Bay Sands Expo Hall A . The fair is expected to draw over 130,000 visitors this year. 

    Inaugurated in 2005, this annual fair aims to enhance Singaporeans' awareness of the importance of keeping fit and increasing their knowledge of healthy lifestyle choices. A free admission event, the fair caters to people of all ages - from young children to senior citizens. 

    A total of 103 exhibitors and 169 exhibition booths will be showcased at this year's event, which is supported by the Health Promotion Board, PA Active Aging Council, Singapore Cancer Society, Singapore Chinese Physicians' Association and Centre for Eye Surgery. 

    The Lianhe Wanbao Health & Beauty Fair 2013 comprises several zones: Healthy Living, Rest & Relax, Beauty & Fitness, Health Food Corner, and Food Paradise. 

    It offers a wide range of healthcare and beauty products and services, healthy cooking demonstrations by famous chefs, talks conducted by doctors, nutritionists and health professionals, free eye and health screening which covers live blood analysis, chiropractic, body fat analysis, bone mass analysis, blood pressure and more.

    There will also be live entertainment including stage performances such as wellness workout, yoga demonstration, percussion performances and "The Duo" Talent Competition, a talent search for participants to perform in pairs. 

    Mr Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Health, is the Guest of Honour for the opening ceremony on 4 May 2013 (Saturday) at 10.30am. The opening ceremony will be held at the Central Stage at Expo Hall A.

    SPH has a 20 per cent stake in MediaCorp TV Holdings Pte Ltd, which operates free-to-air channels 5, 8 and U, and a 40 per cent stake in MediaCorp Press Limited, which publishes the free newspaper, Today. In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations UFM 100.3 in Mandarin, as well as Kiss 92 and HOT FM91.3 in English.

    Events and Out-of-Home Advertising

    SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.


    SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its second retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road. SPH‘s latest retail development project, The Seletar Mall, is slated for completion by end 2014.
