Singapore’s Longest Running Children’s Education Show - The Kidz Academy Turns 5

Singapore, 11 June 2013 – The perennial children’s education show, The Kidz Academy is back with more than 70 exhibitors and three days of engaging programmes and exciting activities for both parents and children. Organised by Sphere Exhibits, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), and presented by CIMB Bank, The Kidz Academy 2013 will be held at Singapore Expo Hall 6A from 14 to 16 June, from 11am to 9pm daily. Admission is free.

Focusing on the holistic development of children, the exhibition brings together the best of education and enrichment providers under one-roof for discerning parents to find first-hand information on the best courses and programmes from renowned exhibitors for developing their child.

Beyond sourcing for the enrichment courses, learning aids and equipment, parents and their children can also partake in free parenting and educational workshops as well as bond through various family activities and be entertained by their favorite cartoon characters.

Learn as a Family through Free Workshops and Parenting Talks for the New Age Parent

The Straits Times Educational Workshops supported by Adam Khoo Learning Centre provide parents a look at the various options available to improve their child’s exam preparation techniques and build up a strong foundation for their child. These free workshops are open to parents with children aged 6 – 12 years old.

With the current national focus on family bonding and wellness, The Kidz Academy hosts a series of free parenting talks aiming to educate and inform parents on key topics like “Simple Strategies That Turn Off The Tantrums and Create Cooperation” and “Parenting Internet-Age Children”. These topics cater to parents of children aged 1 – 12 years old. This is supported by Ministry of Social and Family Development and a part of National Celebrations

Largest Play Arena with Mandarin Word Play and Get Closer to Outer Space at The Kidz Academy

Playful Elves and You Station come together to host excited children at the giant “Kidz Play” area with more than 300sqm of space filled with bouncy castles, a special race track and an educational corner with Mandarin word play. 

Take a step closer to outer space with Space Academy Singapore. The ONLY space camp in Asia, PhD Nasa-engineer instructors provide top-notch instruction based on real-world experience. 

Aside from gathering the best in education and enrichment providers under one roof, The Kidz Academy promises great fun as popular cartoon characters from Adventure Time with Finn & Jake, Despicable Me 2 and more comes alive on stage. 

The Kidz Academy Rewards Supporters and Gives Back to Society

As part of its 5th birthday celebration, The Kidz Academy will be working with The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (SPMF). Fifty underprivileged children from Jamiyah Children’s Home will be invited on the opening day. They will each receive a Swensen's kid's meal and a 2-hour play in the giant “Kidz Play” area. In addition, for every “Kidz Play” area ticket sold, $2 will be donated to SPMF.

Birthday treats including $1,000 Junior Accounts to be won

On 16th June, a big birthday bash will be held with favourite cartoon characters and superheroes. Children aged 5 – 12 years old who participated in the Happy Birthday Photo Contest will join the birthday bash with the coolest Swensen’s ice-cream tower (made up of mini tubs) and get a Milo® Birthday Pack.

To reward the early birds, the first 1,000 parent and child pair to visit the show daily will receive a goody bag consisting of stationaries, vouchers, magazines and food products.

All visitors to the show are also eligible the bi-hourly lucky draws conducted every day. Winners can expect to win great prizes like a Photography Package from Essence Studios worth over $800, 2D1N Parkroyal Beach Road Hotel Stay for the family and more. There will also be a final grand draw on 16 June where three lucky winners will each walk away with a CIMB Junior account with a pre-deposit of $1,000.

There will be exciting quests and challenges for the children where by upon completion, each will be rewarded with a free Swensen’s Kids membership. 
Children visiting the show can also look forward to free popcorn and ice cream. What’s more, little girls will also be able to get a free manicure.

Five years ago, we started The Kidz Academy and was the first exhibition in Singapore catered to children, with emphasis on healthy child development through fun and creative learning methods.”

More than 100,000 visitors are expected at the three-day event.
