Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair and Office Expo Asia 2013 go Eco-friendly

Raising eco-awareness in corporations – from office space and equipment, to corporate gifts

Singapore, 25 June 2013 – Singapore’s one and only dedicated office solutions and business trade event, Office Expo Asia (OEA), will be held concurrently with Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair (SGPFair) this year. It is organised by BizLink Exhibition Services Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited.

SGPFair and OEA will be held from 10 – 12 July 2013 at the Marina Bay Sands, Expo and Convention Center, Level 1, Halls B & C.

Together, SGPFair and OEA are Singapore and the region’s leading platforms for corporate and office buyers sourcing for gifts, premiums and office solutions, as well as meeting the ambitions of the corporate business domain.

Apart from the variety of unique products and innovative solutions from over 30 countries on show, attendees can pick up tips on improving their company’s footprint on Earth via the first-ever Eco-Office and Eco-Gifts Showcase.

Working “Green”

Recreating an actual office, green items such as office furniture, carpets, flooring, printers, paint, detergent, lighting, food packaging, and paper will be showcased alongside with eco-tips. This showcase, supported by Singapore Environment Council’s Project Eco-Office initiative, will help to cultivate a sense of environmental consciousness at the workplace
.

Sharing about the benefits of implementing eco-friendly measures in the office, Mr Jose Raymond, Executive Director of the Singapore Environment Council, said: “Most working individuals spend a minimum 8 hours a day in the office. For companies, office operations account for a significant proportion of the company budget and manpower. Achieving an Eco-Office through measures such as increasing use of natural light and ventilation, allowing flexible working hours or telecommuting to reduce reliance on cars, using energy-saving electronic equipment and procuring offices supplies such as paper from sustainable sources has the dual benefit of promoting employee well-being in the workplace while achieving significant cost savings for the company. It’s great that a major event like the Office Expo Asia 2013 endorses the important message that a green office is a better office, with happier employees.”

Buying “Green”

Purchasers looking to buy ecologically-friendly products to reduce their impact on the environment can also visit the Eco-Gifts Showcase at SGPFair, displaying a collection of innovative “green” gifts contributed by exhibitors, such as wood jewellery and art pieces made from factory waste, biodegradable cork thumb drives, and pens made from recycled plastic bottles.

Mr Chua Wee Phong, Executive Director, BizLink Exhibition Services, said: "We hope that this Eco-Gifts Showcase will strike a chord with all and the support for sustainability will provide our exhibitors with added motivation to continue this significant work of weaving eco-consciousness and sustainability efforts into the fabric of their companies, processes and products.

Admission is free. Trade, corporate and office buyers seeking to visit should pre-register online at
