Singapore, – About 140 golfers will once again vie for the Integration Cup, to be held on , at the Singapore Island Country Club. The event was launched last year by tabla! and Tamil Murasu, two newspapers published by Singapore Press Holdings. It will be followed by an Integration Night dinner for members of the community, with Mr S.R.Nathan as Guest of Honour.
Presented by UBS and supported by the National Integration Council, the Integration Cup was launched to promote interaction among Indians in Singapore (both local and expats) as well as non-Indians. This year, one of the event’s key sponsors is the Indian Women’s Association (IWA) of Singapore, a non-profit organisation that brings the Indian women community together by giving them a platform to support and network with each other whilst living in Singapore.
The evening’s festivities for the Integration Night will be attended by the golfers and their spouses, along with invited guests. The event will feature dance performances by local artiste Maalika, a contemporary dance performance by students from Raffles Junior College, as well as a stand-up comedy act. An auction will also take place during the dinner, with the proceeds going to SINDA.
Mr J Rajendran, editor of Tamil Murasu Ltd said: "We're delighted with the response we got last year – 135 golfers took part in the tournament and more than 400 enjoyed the gala dinner and festivities that followed. We are looking forward to engage with our readers again this year, and in the process, help integrate the Indian expat community."
