Singapore, 3 August 2013 – A lucky Kiss92 fan won a brand new Opel GTC at the station’s biggest giveaway contest which came to a close at the Opel showroom this afternoon.
Mr. Ricky Ho, 42, won the ultra-desirable and sexy Opel GTC 1.4 Turbo, in the station’s biggest giveaway contest ever. Another first for the station was the overwhelming 17,000 entries received over the two-week long Opel GTC Getaway Contest. The contest was organised by Kiss92, an English radio station managed by SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd and Auto Germany Pte Ltd, the local distributor for Opel cars.
In order to qualify, fans had to pass a test of speed and knowledge. They had to listen out for the cue to turn on their Kiss92 mobile application. When the Opel car image appeared in the mobile application’s player window, they only had five minutes to answer an Opel related question. Correct entries were entered into a draw.
Only 168 Kiss92 fans with the right responses were selected to take part in the finale event. Contestants were required to draw one of the 16 pink balls from enclosed boxes to receive an OPEL key. Remaining contestants vied for the final four keys by giving the closest guess of the number of Kiss92 logos located within the Opel showroom.
With keys in hand, the finale was shifted to high gear, as the 20 fans tried their keys to unlock the Opel GTC 1.4 Turbo.
Mr. Ho, an ardent fan of Kiss92 since the station started, was rewarded with the sound of a key click as the door opened to a sleek car that is now his.
Mr. Ho said: " I am still in shock and I did not expect my first prize from Kiss92 to be a car! Number 17 has always been my lucky number and it has won me the brand new Opel GTC!"
Maddy Barber, Assistant Programming Director of Kiss92, who helms the morning show, said: “It is all for our Kiss92 fans and it is great to be able to reward our fans for their support to the station. Thank you Auto Germany Pte Ltd for giving away such a sleek and sexy car!”
Fans can continue to look forward to exciting contests on Kiss92 with All the Great Songs in One Place. The station’s reach grew to 419,000 listeners weekly*, in less than a year of its first broadcast.
