Travelling photo exhibition to celebrate Lianhe Zaobao's 90th anniversary
Of the 90 works on display, 80 were taken by Lianhe Zaobao's team of photojournalists. These photos capture some historic moments from 1954 to the present year. Another 10 were photo entries submitted by members of the public for the "Impressions of Singapore" photo contest.
The contest attracted overwhelming response from readers, with more than 4,000 online submissions received. The 10 finalists' works were selected by a panel of expert judges to be included in this exhibition, alongside those of the Lianhe Zaobao photojournalists.
Mr Goh Sin Teck, Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said: "Lianhe Zaobao has been there at every important moment of time in Singapore's history, capturing the moment in perpetuity with our photographs. We hope that the photographs that we have specially selected will touch people's hearts and bring about special memories. Lianhe Zaobao will continue to serve the community by preserving Singapore's history and memories for generations to come.
"We are also delighted that our readers have shown great enthusiasm in participating in this exhibition. Together with our partner Canon, we would like to thank all readers who submitted their photos to us and for supporting this exhibition," added Mr Goh.
The exhibition was officially launched today at VivoCity. The 10 finalists of the contest also received their prizes from the Guest-of-Honour, Mr Sam Tan, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
The winners of the contest are: --- Lianhe Zaobao, the Chinese flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), celebrates its 90th anniversary this year. As part of its year-long celebration, Lianhe Zaobao and Canon are jointly presenting "Impressions of Singapore" (印象新加坡), a travelling photo exhibition that features 90 photographs depicting different facets of Singapore.
Seven other finalists took home consolation prizes of $300 cash and a Canon Powershot G15 each.
The exhibition at VivoCity will be open to the public till . Thereafter, the exhibition will be brought to three other locations around Singapore. They are:
At the exhibition, visitors can vote for their favourite photo and stand a chance to win cash prizes and Canon products worth over $5,000.
Selected photos are also available for sale to members of the public. Each A4-sized photo costs $5.
In addition, Lianhe Zaobao will be launching a photo book entitled "Nine Tastes" or “九品”. The 180-page photo book, featuring photos by Lianhe Zaobao's photojournalists, will be distributed to business associates of Lianhe Zaobao.

Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events arm Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions as well as large scale conferences in Singapore and the region. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its digital out-of-home platform SPH MediaBoxOffice.
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its second retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011.
