Asian Masters returns with a stellar line up and innovative gastronomic experiences

· Celebrity and Michelin- starred guest chefs at Asian Masters

Singapore, 10 October 2013 – Asian Masters returns for its fourth edition from 1 November to 7 December 2013 and promises exquisite gastronomic treats and memorable dining experiences. 

This year, Asian Masters is set to dazzle patrons with a star-studded line up of guest chefs including not one, but two chefs from two Michelin-starred restaurants - Chef Mok Kit Keung from Hong Kong and Chef Hajime Yoneda from Japan, both making their first appearances at Asian Masters. Also making a debut at the event are celebrity Chef Chumpol Jangprai, known as the Iron Chef of Thai Cuisine, and Chef Alex Park from Korea.

Besides an impressive line up of chefs, Asian Masters will also feature the pairing of top French “star” wines such as the E.Guigal’s La Las and Chateau La Mission with great food by Chef Fok Kai Yee of Summer Pavilion and Chef Sebastian Lepinoy of Les Amis respectively. 

Along with the traditional wine pairing dinners which are perennial favourites, Asian Masters will excite the palates of discerning gourmands with innovative and unexpected cocktail and whisky pairing dinners. Showcasing a whole new and different facet of traditional pairing dinners will be the Absolut Expressions by The Disgruntled Chef, pairing modern European cuisine with cocktails using vodkas by Absolut and more.

Adding a touch of fine art and glamour to the Asian Masters line-up, a very select group of guests will be invited to a once in a lifetime opportunity to create their own unique Chinese crystal artpieces at the “The Craft of LIULI by Loretta H. Yang” conducted by the founders of famed luxury crystal art brand LIULIGONGFANG, Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi, who are also Golden Horse Award winners and masters of the traditional crystal art technique of pate-de-verre.

The popular Asian Masters Gala Dinner by the Singapore National Culinary Team will return, while the Asian Masters Charity Dinner is back for a second year.

Partnering Asian Masters this year are some of Singapore’s best dining establishments such as Restaurant André, Les Amis, Shangri-La Hotel, Mandarin Oriental Singapore, Grand Hyatt Singapore, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, The Disgruntled Chef and Patara Fine Thai Cuisine.

OCBC cardmembers will enjoy 20 per cent off Asian Masters events and 15 per cent off a la carte food bills at all Feast Asia participating restaurants. OCBC cardmembers also enjoy priority booking to all Asian Masters events from 7 to 21 October. Asian Masters will be open for public booking from 22 October 2013

A star- studded culinary experience at the Gourmet Signatures

Four outstanding guest chefs from Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan will helm the kitchens of four top restaurants in Singapore during Asian Masters: 

· Cuisine of Alex Kang – guests can enjoy top notch traditional Korean cuisine by Chef Alex Kang of Park Hyatt Busan at mezz9, Grand Hyatt Singapore (4 – 17 Nov)
· Cuisine of Mok Kit Keung – for fans of authentic Cantonese dishes, a visit to Shang Palace at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore is a must in order to taste the cuisine of highly acclaimed and two-Michelin star Chef Mok Kit Keung from Shangri-La, Kowloon (13 – 17 Nov)
· Cuisine of Chumpol Jangprai – Thailand’s acclaimed Iron Chef Chumpol Jangprai will present a special menu at Patara Fine Thai Cuisine which will delight all palates (18 – 24 Nov)
· Cuisine of Hajime Yoneda – guests will have the rare opportunity to enjoy renowned 2 Michelin-starred Chef Hajime Yoneda’s signature dishes at Restaurant Andre (4 – 7 Dec)

Epicurean heaven of signature cuisines from top Asian culinary talents paired with the finest old and new world wines at Vintner Dinners

By popular demand, the Asian Masters Vintner Dinners are back. Last year, all five vintner dinners were sold out. This year, seven memorable vintner dinners await diners who love a glass of wine with their meal.

· E.Guigal’s La-La Dinner with the Cuisine of Chef Fok Kai Yee (6 November)
Widely regarded as the Rhone Valley's most revered wines, Domaine E. Guigal’s flagship wines of La Mouline, La Turque and La Landonne are featured in this rare showcase. Diners get to enjoy eight ultra premium wines spanning three decades paired with a six-course menu created by celebrated Chef Fok Kai Yee of Summer Pavillion. 

· The Flavours of Persia with the wines of Errazuriz (13 November)
Enjoy a six-course meal prepared by the Iranian Head Chef of Shiraz, Singapore’s authentic Persian cuisine destination, paired with splendid wines from the award-winning Chilean winery Errazuriz and complete with belly dancing. 

· The Cuisine of Chef Mok Kit Keung with the wines of Rossignol-Trapet (14 November)
Two-Michelin star Chef Mok Kit Keung will prepare a six-course dinner at Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, which will be paired with six exquisite wines from Domaine Rossignol-Trapet, including four Premier Crus and a Grand Cru. 

· Vinum Fine Wines presents the Chateau La Mission Dinner featuring Chef Sebastian Lepinoy (20 November)
Bordeaux wine lovers can look forward to an exquisite five-course dinner prepared by Chef Sebastian Lepinoy, whose dinners were sold out at the recent Gourmet Japan. The five-course dinner at Les Amis will be paired with six wines spanning three decades from Chateau La Mission. 

· The Iron Chef Dinner featuring Chef Chumpol Jangprai (20 & 21 November
An evening of Thai cuisine and award-winning wines awaits diners at The Iron Chef Dinner at Patara Fine Thai Cuisine, featuring Thailand’s Iron Chef Chumpol Jangprai.

· A Journey to the South of France by Restaurant Andre and Artisan Cellars (26 November)
Chef André Chiang, owner and chef of his award-winning restaurant, will engage the mind and senses of diners in this special dinner, to be paired with a fine selection of biodynamic wines presented by Artisan Cellars. 

· A Winter Truffle Dinner with the wines of Domaine Nicolas Potel and Domaine Benjamin Leroux (29 November)
Chef Cheng Hon Chau of Mandarin Oriental Singapore’s Cherry Garden will create a seven-course menu with Winter Truffle for diners, which will be paired with fine Burgundies from Domaine Nicolas Potel and Domaine Benjamin Leroux. 

Seasonal Favorites and Innovative Cocktail, Vodka and Whisky Pairing Dinners at Gastronomic Treasures 

On 1 November, Asian Masters kicks off with The Imperial Hairy Crab Banquet with Champagne G.H. Mumm at Jade, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. This seasonal crustacean delicacy takes centre stage under the gifted hands of Chef Leong Chee Yeng as he pairs his signature creations with G.H. Mumm’s outstanding champagnes, including the award-winning Blanc de Blancs and the very limited Cuvée R. Lalou.

On 5 NovemberMartell Cordon Bleu presents An Asian Odyssey with Chef Ryan Clift at The Tippling Club. Diners will be brought on a journey to discover new ways of enjoying one the world’s favourite Cognac with the special menu by Chef Ryan Clift.

Over at The Song of India on 7 NovemberThe Glenlivet presents the Flavours of Kashmir. Single Malt Whiskies will be perfectly paired with exquisite Kashmiri Cuisine over a delectable six-course menu by Corporate Executive Chef Manjunath Mural. 

This year’s Asian Masters features a new pairing – that of modern European cuisine with cocktails. At the 
Absolut Expressions by The Disgruntled Chef dinner on 19 November, the award-winning ‘Disgruntled Chef’ Daniel Sia will serve a six-course menu to be paired with six cocktails concocted using Absolut’s vodkas. 

Indoguna presents the Asian Masters Gala Dinner 

The Singapore National Culinary Team, comprising some of the best chefs in Singapore, will show off their skills at this year’s Asian Masters Gala Dinner at Ocean Gallery, Resorts World Sentosa on 22 November. The Asian Masters Gala Dinner is presented by fine food purveyor Indoguna. 

Asian Masters Charity Dinner 

The second Asian Masters Charity Dinner, presented by Unlisted Collection, will be held at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore on 28 November. Featuring an exquisite menu prepared by six chefs from the Unlisted Collection Group, comprising Chef Andrew Walsh from Esquina, Chef Andres Lara from Pollen, Chef Anthony Yeo from Cocotte, Chef Sebastian Ng from Ember as well as Hong Kong’s Chef Lee Westcott from 22 Ships and Shanghai’s Chef Scott Melvin from The Commune Social. The dinner will be paired with an award-winning range of wines sponsored by Water & Wine Pte Ltd. Funds raised from this dinner will go to assist social service programmes run by various charities under the auspices of Community Chest. 

Lifestyle Affairs and Masters’ Workshops

Besides fine dining, fans of Asian Masters can enjoy an evening with Chivas Sundowners at an al fresco bar at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, on 12 November. Guests get to enjoy Chivas 12 and 18 years old with Asian-inspired canapes prepared by Chef Massimmo Pasquarelli and chill to the DJ’s music.

For a touch of fine art and food, Asian Masters is working with famed Chinese “liuli” crystal art company LIULIGONGFANG to present an exclusive once in a lifetime experience for guests to create their own “liuli” artwork with the coaching of LIULIGONFANG’s founding directors and renowned artists Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi at the “The Craft of LIULI by Loretta H. Yang” by-invitation workshop and lunch session.

For those who wish to pick up tips on how to prepare Asian dishes like the celebrity chefs can attend the 
Masters’ Workshops – a series of intimate cooking demonstrations by eight local chefs showcasing Asian-inspired dishes, followed by tasting sessions – at the Tott Store on 16 and 17 November (10am12noon2pm and 4pm). The talented chefs who will share their experiences include Chef Anthony Yeoh of Cocotte, Chef Samia Ahad of Coriander Leaf, Chef Adam Clift of Thai restaurant KHA and Chef Quentin Pereira of Quentin’s Eurasian Restaurant.

Feast Asia and Mixology Asia

Starting from 1 November as part of Asian Masters, Feast Asia will offer OCBC cardmembers attractive year-long dining promotions on a la carte menu items at a selection of Asian restaurants across Singapore. 

In conjunction with Asian Masters, Mixology Asia will see eight leading bars serving three special cocktails using Absolut Elyx vodka, Martell VSOP cognac and Chivas Regal whisky for the month of November.
