Singapore, 13 November 2013 – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) won a total of 11 awards, six more than what it won last year, at the fourth edition of the Asian Digital Media Awards 2013 organised by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) in conjunction with its Digital Media Asia Conference. The results were announced tonight in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Asian Digital Media Awards recognise publishers who had adopted digital media to engage readers. SPH won a total of four Gold, two Silver and five Bronze awards this year.
In the Best in Online Media – Newspaper Website category, citizen journalism portal STOMP (www.stomp.com.sg) was awarded the Gold award and the website of The Straits Times (ST),www.straitstimes.com, won a joint Bronze award with two other winners.
In the Best in Online Media – Magazine Website category, herworldPLUS (www.herworldplus.com) by SPH Magazines won the Silver award. The online portal is based on Singapore’s number one women’s interest magazine, Her World, and is the ‘go to’ authority on shopping, fashion and beauty trends for women in Singapore.
SPH won other Gold awards, including one in the Best in Tablet Publishing category for its Wanbao iPad application by Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao and omy.sg, SPH's bilingual-friendly news and entertainment interactive web portal.
Another Gold came from The Straits Times' ST Communities microsite in the Best in Social Media category. The popular microsite allows readers, journalists, artistes and community partners to get published alongside one another to share their views on entertainment happenings.
Besides the awards for its website and ST Communities, The Straits Times garnered a Silver award In the Best in Cross Media –Cross Media Editorial Coverage category for its report on the haze in Singapore across its print and digital platforms, as well as a Bronze award in the Best in Online Video category for its "48 Singaporean Seconds" project, an audio-visual tribute to Singaporeans in conjunction with Singapore's 48th National Day featuring 25 Singaporeans in videos that were each 48 seconds long.
SPH won three out of four awards in the Best in Cross Media – Cross Media Advertising category, reinforcing the fact that SPH is the most innovative company in the region when it comes to cross media marketing. The award honours a publisher’s ability to offer added value to its advertisers, readers and users through the use of publishing or advertising on a range of media platforms.
SPH won a Gold award for its “Have You Been Good This Year” cross media campaign for its client Tiger Beer, and two joint Bronze awards for its online classified portals, STClassifieds and STCars.
STProperty, SPH's online property portal, won the Bronze award in the Best in Mobile Publishing category. This award honours the best and most innovative services offered by news publishers on a mobile platform.

Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events arm Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions as well as large scale conferences in Singapore and the region. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its digital out-of-home platform SPHMBO.
SPH REIT is a Singapore-based REIT established principally to invest, directly or indirectly, in a portfolio of income-producing real estate which is used primarily for retail purposes in Asia-Pacific, as well as real estate-related assets. SPH REIT is managed by SPH REIT Management Pte. Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited.
The initial portfolio of SPH REIT comprises the following two high quality and well located commercial properties in Singapore:
- Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property, well known for its upscale mall housing many luxury brands, located in the heart of Orchard Road; and
