SPHMBO lights up Bedok Town Square with new digital OOH screen

Singapore, 7 September 2018 - SPHMBO, the outdoor advertising arm of Singapore Press Holdings, has expanded its out-of-home (OOH) advertising footprint with the launch of a brand new digital LED screen in the heart of Bedok estate. It is SPHMBO's 13th large-format digital LED screen.

Strategically positioned as the centrepiece of Bedok Town Square, the 4.6m by 2.6m digital screen offers advertisers a prime platform to establish their brand presence and increase exposure in one of Singapore’s most populous neighbourhoods. Advertisers can further increase visibility by taking up static branding or a static frame wrap which brings the total screen size to 6.6m by 3.6m. The first advertiser to combine both static and digital formats is SPH Radio's Chinese music infotainment station 96.3 Hao FM.

Since its launch, the new digital screen has attracted new advertisers including Courts, Royal Caribbean, Malindo Airways, Daikin and a line-up of movie titles such as Crazy Rich Asians, Mama Mia! Here We Go Again and The Meg. To enhance community experience in the new town square, SPHMBO offered free "live" screenings of soccer matches during the 2018 World Cup and showcased original short-form public service content produced by SPH in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Ms Julie Wee, Product Development Director of SPHMBO, said: “The new inventory marks an important milestone in our growth of digital assets in major heartland hubs. We are excited to offer more touch points for advertisers to reach consumers in places where they are closer to home.”

Completed in May 2016, Bedok Town Square is the first of HDB’s new generation town plazas and is used primarily for staging community and commercial events, notably product roadshows and government programmes. The vibrant town plaza serves as a key meeting point and enjoys high footfall from connecting residents and visitors to nearby facilities such as Bedok Mall, Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre and the Bedok Integrated Transport Hub.
