We would also like to congratulate our award-winning journalists, whose dedication in delivering insightful news is good testimony of our quality journalism."

Ms Chen Huifen, News Editor of The Business Times, said: “Angela has had many exclusives this year on a number of corporate and regulatory issues concerning the capital markets. She is not afraid to do the rough work, persistently finding alternative channels to get the truth even when official channels close on her. Angela’s news stories and commentaries are often thoughtful, balanced and impactful. She is able to write with authority and is becoming the go-to reporter for stories on the local markets.”

Ms Quek Lee Kiang, Business Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, said: “Kang Wei is a young budding journalist, with keen interests in new fields such as the sharing economy, block-chain and cryptocurrency. These are no easy topics to grasp for the average reader of the publication. He puts in extra efforts to ensure his works are relatable to them. In a short span of a year as a financial journalist, he has shown tremendous potential and delivers consistently high quality news reports on the economic, financial as well as the property markets.”

Commenting on Ms Chen Jing's performance, Ms Quek added: “Chen Jing has delivered extraordinary performance and shone as a financial journalist.  Besides covering macroeconomics and financial and property markets, she also ventured deep into the 'non-traditional' areas such as e-payments, fintech and blockchain. Chen Jing is sharp and quick to identify new trends. She has produced award-winning commentaries and featured stories of interest to investors and the general public."

As for Ms Tang Ai Wei, Ms Quek said: “Ai Wei is a highly valued member of Lianhe Zaobao business desk and consistently delivers excellent work, focusing on stock market stories.  She is always on the lookout for the latest developments in the oil & gas sector, and has produced extensive and insightful coverage on this sector."

On Ms Tan Hwee Hwee, BT's Ms Chen said: “Hwee Hwee has established herself as a trustworthy and sensible source for any corporate news concerning the offshore and marine sector. She has a deep understanding of the industry and this is reflected in the scoops, commentaries and news analyses she frequently writes for BT. In an era of data journalism, Hwee Hwee shows that the old school tactics of getting out of the office, talking to people and understanding the subject matter still thrive. Her stories are always accurate, insightful and discussed about."
