SPH Appoints Two New Board Directors

Singapore, 29 June 2007 - Media group Singapore Press Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of two new directors to its Board.

Mr Yong Pung How, 81, and Mr Ng Ser Miang, 58, will join the Board on 1 July 2007 and 1 August 2007 respectively.

Mr Yong, who was Singapore´s Chief Justice from 1990 to 2006, is no newcomer to SPH. He was appointed Director and Deputy Chairman of SPH after its incorporation in August 1984. He resigned at the end of June 1989 when he joined the High Court bench.

Mr Yong, who has degrees in law, arts and management, has held a series of distinguished positions. He started his legal career as a partner with Shook Lin & Bok in 1952. Some of his previous corporate positions include Deputy Chairman of Malayan Banking Berhad, Chairman and Managing Director of Singapore International Merchant Bankers Ltd (SIMBL) and Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Berhad (MIMB), and Chairman and CEO of OCBC Bank. Mr Yong has also headed the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) as well as the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Mr Yong was conferred the Distinguished Service Order in 1989 and the Order of Temasek (First Class) in 1999. The citation on Singapore´s highest award in 1999 stated “as Chief Justice since 28 September 1990, Justice Yong Pung How has made the Singapore Judiciary world class.”

Mr Ng Ser Miang is currently the Chairman of TIBS International Pte Ltd, NTUC Choice Homes Co-operative Limited, NCI Golf Pte Ltd, and NTUC Fairprice Co-operative Limited.

A former Nominated Member of Parliament, who holds a BBA (Hons) from the University of Singapore, Mr Ng also serves as Director of several companies, including WBL Corporation Ltd. He is also Singapore´s Non-Resident Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary and the Kingdom of Norway.

A sportsman himself, Mr Ng is an Executive Board Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and a member of various IOC Commissions. In 1999, Mr Ng was conferred the Public Service Star and was the Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year in 1992.

Besides their versatility and capability, they are also true gentlemen with great integrity. Their vast experience and knowledge will greatly strengthen the SPH Board and complement our board members´ expertise.”

Outdoor Advertising
In addition, SPH has ventured into outdoor advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore´s largest outdoor motion display advertising network media company, and a 35 percent stake in TOM Outdoor Media Group, a leading outdoor advertising company in China.

Properties
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore’s main shopping belt. SPH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, is also developing a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
