Singapore, 4 July – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) was among eight organisations honoured with the coveted Corporate HR Award at the Singapore HR Awards 2008 organised by the Singapore Human Resources Institute.
Held this evening at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel and graced by Speaker of Parliament, Mr Abdullah Tarmugi, the Presentation Gala Nite was a glamorous occasion for hundreds of local and overseas HR professionals and guests as they witnessed distinguished companies and individuals recognised for their accomplishments and achievements in their work on HR.
The Corporate HR Award is presented to organisations that have achieved overall effectiveness in their HR and people management practices, thus contributing to the needs of businesses, the profession, employees, industry and the nation. These organisations would have demonstrated effective, creative and proactive HR & people management practices in at least four of the Leading HR Practices categories.
This year´s edition of the Awards saw a record 169 submissions from 39 organisations, making it one of the most competitive thus far in the history of the Singapore HR Awards.
SPH won in the following six categories, and its clinching of four Leading HR Practices awards qualified the organisation for the prized Corporate HR Award.

3) Leading HR Practices in Workplace Safety & Health Award
4) Leading HR Practices in Corporate Social Responsibility Award
5) Special Mention in Employee Relations & People Management Award
6) Special Mention in Fair Employment Practices Award
