The 24th Singapore Business Awards honour outstanding Singapore business leaders

Singapore, 24 March 2009 – Mr Ow Chio Kiat, Executive Chairman of the Stamford Land Group, the leading hotel and property owner and developer in Australia and New Zealand, clinched the Businessman of the Year award at this year’s Singapore Business Awards (SBA).

Established in 1985 and acknowledged as Singapore’s most prestigious business accolades, the Singapore Business Awards are in its 24th year. They are jointly organised by The Business Times, Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) leading business daily; and DHL Express, the world’s leading express and logistics company

In addition to the Businessman of the Year Award, the SBA also comprise the Outstanding Chief Executive of the Year Award, Outstanding Chief/Senior Executive of the Year (Overseas) Award and Enterprise of the Year Award.

The winners received their awards from Minister for Finance Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the SBA 2009 presentation dinner held at the Island Ballroom of Shangri-la Hotel this evening.
