Female and Nuyou present Singapore’s First-ever Longest Catwalk on Orchard

Singapore 29 April 2009 - SPH Magazines Pte Ltd’s (SPH Magazines) Female and Nuyou are presenting Singapore’s longest staged catwalk in Orchard Road on 1 May 2009.

On 1 May, the Orchard sidewalk in front of Ngee Ann City and Wisma Atria will be transformed into a glamorous site with a 126 metres catwalk stage that comprises an indoor and outdoor segment for the fashion show. It is the longest catwalk stage in Singapore to date and officials from the Singapore Book of Records will attend the event to present the record certificate. A VIP hospitality tent will host invited guests including celebrities, socialites, foreign media and the who’s who of Singapore’s fashion and beauty scene.

At the Female and Nuyou Catwalk, models will be wearing the hottest collections from international fashion labels such as Banana Republic, Coach, Diesel Blackgold, DKNY, GAP, Jimmy Choo, Paule Ka, Sonia Rykiel, Vivienne Tam as well as Singapore’s very own Lee Hwa Jewellery.

Mr Loh Yew Seng, CEO of SPH Magazines, said, “We are always looking for new and exciting venues for Female and Nuyou Catwalk. Last year’s event was the first fashion show at Terminal 3 and it was a great success. This year, we are setting another record by holding it on the longest catwalk stage to kick-start Orchard Road’s branding campaign. It is indeed a glamorous way to mark Female’s 35th anniversary.”

This is the seventh year that the two leading authorities in fashion and beauty - Female and Nuyou - are holding their signature catwalk collections event. Following last year’s success at Changi Airport Terminal 3, they are setting another milestone by holding their longest catwalk along Singapore’s busiest shopping belt, Orchard Road.

This year's Female and Nuyou Catwalk is part of Orchard Reloaded, a brand positioning campaign organised by Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA), in partnership with Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) to engage the public through multi-media platforms – print, radio, online and out-of-home media. The campaign is an exciting three-week programme from 1 to 22 May. After the Female & Nuyou Longest Orchard Catwalk, there will be a line-up of other lifestyle events and promotions.

Come down to Orchard Road on 1 May to catch the Female and Nuyou Catwalk and join in the post-show party until midnight.
