Singapore, 3 July 2009 – NSMan magazine, published by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines) on behalf of SAFRA National Service Association (SAFRA), has been refreshed with snappy new content and vibrant new looks starting from its July/August issue.
The bimonthly publication, targeted at men aged between 20 and 35 years, commands a 145,000-strong circulation base, comprising readers who are mainly SAFRA members, their spouses and family members.
SAFRA has five clubs spread across the island to address the needs of NSmen and their families, giving them access to a host of activities such as rock wall climbing and photography, to recreational needs such as computer gaming and bowling. In addition, SAFRA offers its members a host of privileges for travel, movies, dining and shopping and provides members with interest clubs to enhance the camaraderie among NSmen.
The new NSMan magazine has been designed to provide readers with lifestyle and SAFRA-centric information in quick, digestible nuggets aimed at time-strapped men. New sections adopting this format include ‘Life+Style’ and ‘Fun+Food’, which cover dining options, movies, gadgets and all the toys men love.
Anchoring the magazine’s content is the new ‘Hot+Heady’ section covering SAFRA-related news and information with articles focusing on sporty, action-packed and fun-filled activities for members and their families. Another major section is ‘The Scene’, which is devoted to special promotions and deals, and is an all-time hot favourite with readers. For ease of referencing, information has been reorganised and designed for quick navigation.
The publication was last revamped in 2007 with content catering to men who lead active lifestyles. “While still staying focused on this editorial direction, we wanted to refresh and update the magazine so readers’ interests are continually engaged. Changes implemented are in response to findings from focus group discussions conducted recently. Content has been re-packaged for easier reading and vibrant layouts marked by eye-catching visuals complete the new look,” said Joanna Lee-Miller, Group Editor, SPH Magazines.
