AsiaOne invites nominations for People’s Choice Awards 2009

- Annual event back for the second year running with more categories

The People’s Choice Awards by AsiaOne, Singapore Press Holdings Limited's ("SPH") leading internet portal, is a public acknowledgment of the popularity of nominated brand names and their products, as determined by AsiaOne's audience. The Awards give visibility and help companies to develop advertising, brand building and consumer relationships with their targeted market segments. The Awards have been welcomed as a new and exciting avenue to raise brand awareness and bring product offerings to a wide yet targeted audience provided by AsiaOne.

The inaugural event to recognise the winning firms in March this year was well-received by major industry players. Guests at the Awards presentation included members from the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, American Express, Kah Motor, James Cook University, Crystal Jade, Nokia, to name a few.

POSB, one of the winners, said through its spokesperson: "As The People's Bank, POSB is heartened that Singaporeans have voted the POSB Everyday Card as their card of choice in the People’s Choice Awards 2008 (Best Credit Card category). The award underscores POSB's unique insights in serving the everyday banking needs of Singaporeans."

As part of its objective to encourage better products and services, AsiaOne will be constantly introducing new categories for People's Choice Awards. For 2009, AsiaOne has increased the total number of categories from last year’s 11 to 25, to incorporate the diverse services and products in the market.

Companies, advertising and media agencies, professional associations and members of the public can send in their nominations for one or more categories for the 2009 People's Choice Awards.

The final slate of nominations - 10 in each category - will be decided by distinguished industry professionals and editorial veterans from SPH publications.

The final results will be based entirely on readers' voting of the shortlisted candidates, followed by a presentation ceremony to celebrate with all award winners. Voting by AsiaOne readers will start in November and the final results will be announced in the first quarter of 2010.
