Singapore, 2 December 2009 – SPH MediaBoxOffice (SPH MBO) will be offering new digital out-of-home advertising solutions in Orchard Road's newest shopping mall, 313@Somerset. This includes a large facade LED screen and an in-mall video wall, which is the very first in SPHMBO's inventory of digital screens and one of the largest found in a shopping mall here. These screens will be officially activated on 3 December to coincide with the opening of the mall.
313@Somerset is Orchard Road’s latest addition and is located conveniently right above the Somerset MRT station. Besides housing popular Japanese brand Uniqlo's megastore, the mall will also have about 170 other retail, entertainment and F&B outlets such as Zara, Lacoste, Esprit, Din Tai Fung, Food Republic as well as music store HMV.
The prime location of 313@Somerset, nestled among shopping malls, hotels, fine dining restaurants, eateries, theatres and offices, makes these screens a truly valuable marketing platform. Tens of thousands of train commuters, shoppers and pedestrians throng the area on a daily basis.
The position of the new facade LED screen means that anyone who is using the pedestrian crossing from across that busy section of Orchard Road will not miss its content. SPH MBO's newest screen will add on to its existing 5 island-wide. SPH's out-of-home media advertising company also owns and manages total of 588 digital posters and video screens in retail malls, banks and hospital.
Besides the outdoor facade LED screen and in-mall video wall, advertisers will also have static banner options next to these screens.
Mr Edward Tang, General Manager of SPH MBO, said: "We are happy to launch our sixth and newest large outdoor LED screen to coincide with the opening of 313@Somerset. The screen, our second on Orchard Road, provides an exciting solution for major brand owners, particularly in fashion labels and lifestyle products and services, to reach an increasingly mobile and out-of-home consumer society."
Even before the screens are officially in operation tomorrow, major brands such as HTC and Lee Hwa Jewellery have booked their campaigns to ensure their advertisements are seen by scores of train commuters who travel to or from the station.
Temasek Polytechnic and PA Passion Card are also scheduled to screen their advertisements on the various screens. SPH MBO also offered festive advertising packages for retailers.
Ms Kathleen Goy, HTC's Marketing Communications Manager, said: "We selected the location because we believe it has an effective reach to our target audience due to the high shopper traffic and its proximity to our retail channels. In particular, we expect the outdoor LED screen to be watched by thousands of people who use the pedestrian crossing directly facing the screen, and many more who are waiting at the bus-stop."
Besides advertisements, shoppers can also look forward to interesting and exciting content from a number of content partners such as The Straits Times RazorTV, SPH Magazines, WOWtv and National Geographic.
On the new partnership, Mr Michael Kenderes, Development Director, 313@Somerset, said: "313@Somerset is excited to be in a digital media advertising partnership with SPH MBO. Their state of the art LED screen and video wall will allow us to communicate and entertain our customers and promote our retailers using SPH MBO's experience, innovation and extensive media network."
Mr Tang added: "The latest addition of 313@Somerset brings the number of major shopping malls in our retail network to 18, with another dozen prime malls expected to be included in the network next year. We are also planning to expand our Digital Out-of-Home network into other non-retail locations to provide a variety of niche marketing solutions to advertisers. This firmly establishes
SPH MBO as a major and committed player in the digital out-of-home sphere."
