Announcing the winners of the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2010

Singapore, 8 March 2010 --- Results of the second Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA) are out! Winners in the "Most Popular" categories have been named following the public's voting from 3 to 28 February this year.

In addition to the "Most Popular" awards, a panel of judges comprising SPH journalists from print, radio and online media, together with local and foreign media industry experts, has picked the winners in the "Best of" categories. The complete list of winners is attached in Appendix 1.

Jointly organised by Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese media including Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, omy.sg and UW (U-Weekly), the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2010 attracted a total of 2.7 million online and sms votes during the voting period.

Five prestigious awards, namely Outstanding Achievement Award (Local Movies), Outstanding Achievement Award (Local Music), New Generation Artiste (Local), Asian New Artiste of the Year and Artiste of the Year, will be announced on 13 March. The winners are also picked by the panel of judges.

The celebration concert cum award presentation will be held at The Float @ Marina Bay on 13 March 2010 (Saturday). Making their appearance at the star-studded event are some of the hottest names in the Singapore and Asian entertainment industry. They include SHINee (Korea), Eason Chan and Moses Chan (Hongkong); Yoga Lin, Rachel Liang Wen Yin and Mark Chao (Taiwan); JJ Lin, Tanya Chua, A-Do, Chen Weilian and Olivia Ong (Singapore). The complete list of artistes is attached in Appendix 2.



Ticketing information
Tickets to the celebration concert are fast snapping up. All $65 stage-front standing tickets and $20 tickets are sold out.There are limited tickets left for the $10 category. Tickets are sold through SISTIC Website: www.sistic.com.sg, SISTIC Hotline: (65) 6348 5555 and SISTIC Authorized Agents island wide. (excludes SISTIC charges / subject to 7% GST) .

Security Information

  1. Members of the public are advised to use public transport (buses and MRT) as the organisers are restricting taxis along Temasek Boulevard. Parking is not available at the venue. Those who are driving are advised to park their vehicles at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Millennia Hotel, Marina Square Shopping Mall and Esplanade Theatres on the Bay.
  2. Bulky and professional video equipment are not allowed into the venue.
  3. Fan club cloth/PVC banners are allowed but not with poles.
  4. Bottled water or canned drinks cannot be brought into the venue. They have to be consumed before entering the venue.
  5. No animals or pets are allowed.
  6. No canned foam spray or laser pointers allowed.

In conjunction with the event, the following roadshows will be organised:

  • 13 March, Saturday, 3:30pm, Junction 8, Top of the 8, Level 3 (Artiste appearing: Mark Chao 赵又廷)
  • 14 March, Sunday (time to be confirmed), IMM (Artiste appearing: SHINee)

  • 5pm: Gates open
  • 5:30pm to 7pm: Opening performances, hosted by Radio 100.3 DJs
  • 7pm: Red carpet / Arrival of artistes
  • 7pm to 10pm: Celebration concert with performances by award winners and guest stars, hosted by Radio 100.3 DJs

Note: This is a rain or shine event. All media must register at the Media Counter located at the VIP Entry Gate, Ground Level, at 6pm. (see attached site map).

In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Mandarin and 91.3FM in English.

Outdoor Advertising
In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s largest outdoor motion display advertising network media company.

Properties
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, is also developing a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
