Features 125 models on a 100m runway
Singapore, 8 April 2010 – SPH Magazines Pte Ltd’s (SPH Magazines) leading women's fashion magazines, Female and Nuyou are presenting their annual signature event - the Female & Nuyou Catwalk Collection 2010 on 10 April, right in the heart of Orchard Road. This annual signature event is the highlight of Fashion Season @ Orchard 2010 (FSO 2010).
At this year's Female & Nuyou Catwalk, 125 gorgeous models will showcase the hottest collections from 10 designer labels - alldressedup, Etro, Aigner, Levi's, Liz Claiborne, New Look, T.M. Lewin, Island Shop, Anglomania by Vivienne Westwood and Sonia by Sonia Rykiel. The catwalk will start from within Paragon shopping mall before taking the fashion show to the street outside Paragon for 65m and back into the mall. More than 5,000 people are expected to turn up to view the fashion spectacle. The audience will include insiders of the fashion and beauty industry, celebrities such as jazz singer Olivia Ong, models, socialites, stylists, makeup gurus, the foreign media as well as tourists and the general public.
This year's Female & Nuyou Catwalk, which is in its eighth year, is part of Fashion Season @ Orchard, a six-week campaign comprising a series of fabulous fashion activities, exciting parties, as well as shopping and dining promotions. Fashion Season @ Orchard 2010 is presented by the Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) in conjunction with Asia Fashion Exchange (AFX), and co-organised by SPH.
Ms Irene Tan, General Manager of SPH Magazines, says: "Female & Nuyou Catwalk Collection has never failed to push the fashion boundaries, from staging its catwalk in Changi Airport Terminal 3 in 2008, to the longest catwalk in Orchard Road last year, and now with a 125-model-strong show. With the Asian models that both magazines have hand-picked for the Female & Nuyou Catwalk Collection, the event plays a key role in promoting the talents and beauty in Asia. It has been one of the platforms for both magazines to bring fashion in Singapore to a new height, while engaging our readers and advertisers at the same time."
FSO Asian Models
As part of FSO 2010, the Female & Nuyou Catwalk will feature 10 Asian models who are vying for the title of the inaugural FSO Asian Model contest. Members of the public are invited to see these models in action for themselves and vote for their favorite FSO Asian model at www.fsoorchard.com. Voters stand to win shopping vouchers.
Ms Jeanette Ejlersen, Creative Editor of Female, adds: "More and more Asian faces are fronting major advertising campaigns and walking the runways – it's the new fashion wave. They have lots of presence, versatility and that it factor. That's what we'll be looking out for in these contestants.”
Ms Grace Lee, Editor of Nuyou, says: "We incorporated the Asian model element because Asia is close to our hearts. At Nuyou, we appreciate and promote Asian beauty.”
