The New Paper Big Walk @ Marina Bay 2010

Singapore, 21 May 2010 – The New Paper Big Walk is back.

Come Sunday, 18 July, 20,000 participants will start their 5km walk at the Singapore Flyer. The walk will take them past many new attractions at Marina Bay, including the waterfront promenade. The event, which holds a Guinness world record for the largest number of walkers, will allow this year's participants to enjoy the scenic view of the Marina Bay area and Singapore’s exciting city skyline.

The New Paper Big Walk@Marina Bay is co-organised with the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), the development agency for Marina Bay, as part of Marina Bay Invitations 2010. An exciting line-up of events has been planned throughout the year to mark the completion of the key developments in Marina Bay this year.

For the second time since 2008, NTUC FairPrice will return as the Presenter, along with support from new partners Singapore Flyer, POSB, Anlene, Garmin-Asus and Nikon.

Founded in 1991, the signature event of The New Paper once entered the Guinness Book of World Records in 2000 for being the largest walk of its kind.

Registration for The New Paper Big Walk @ Marina Bay will begin in June. Registration fee of $10 is chargeable for each participant who will receive a specially designed T-shirt and a goodie bag containing attractive gifts from the sponsors.
