Chan Yeng Kit
Chief Executive Officer
Yeng Kit is the Chief Executive Officer of SPH Media, and serves on the board of SPH Media Holdings as a Director.
Prior to joining SPH Media, he was the Permanent Secretary for Health. Through the course of his career, he has held the role of Permanent Secretary in various ministries including Defence, Defence Development, and Information, Communications & the Arts.
Yeng Kit is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Central Provident Fund Board. He previously served as Chairman of MOH Holdings Ltd, Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) Board, and Infocomm Media Development Authority Board.
Yeng Kit has also served in management roles in the Government, the labour movement, and the private sector, including Public Service Division, Singapore-Suzhou Township Development Pte Ltd, and Ministry of Trade & Industry, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education and IDA.
He was awarded the Singapore Armed Forces National Serviceman of the Year Award in 1999, conferred the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2000, the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 2010, and the Meritorious Service Medal in 2022.
Wong Wei Kong
Editor-in-Chief, English/Malay/Tamil Media Group
Wei Kong was appointed Editor-in-Chief of the English, Malay and Tamil Media group of SPH Media in October 2022, overseeing The Straits Times, The Business Times, and the vernaculars, Berita Harian and Tamil Murasu. He was Editor of The Business Times from December 2016 to October 2022, managing the editorial as well as non-editorial operations of the paper.
Wei Kong served as The Business Times’ Executive Editor from 2014 to 2016, and prior to that, was its News Editor for three years. He served as Associate News Editor from 2006 to 2011. He undertook a major revamp of The Business Times’ print, digital and mobile editions in 2014, as well as the relaunch of its Weekend edition in 2016. Following that, The Business Times launched two new content verticals, Asean Business, and Garage, for startups. In 2022, the paper reorganised itself into a digital-first newsroom that also produces a high-quality print product. He joined The Business Times in 1998.
Wei Kong is a member of the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee set up by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to promote good corporate governance, and as Editor of The Business Times, he led BT’s involvement in several major awards that seek to encourage business excellence. This includes the Singapore Business Awards, the Singapore Corporate Awards, the Emerging Enterprise Awards, and the Enterprise 50 Awards. He is a board member of The Rice Company Ltd, an arts-focused social enterprise, and is also Chairman of the Business Times’ Budding Artists Fund, which seeks to uplift underprivileged children and youths through the arts.
Wei Kong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History.
Lee Huay Leng
Editor-in-Chief, Chinese Media Group
Huay Leng is the Editor-in-Chief for the Chinese Media Group in SPH Media. She is responsible for Lianhe Zaobao and its global digital platform zaobao.com, the evening daily Shin Min Daily News, a stable of student publications, a digital channel for young audience called HeyKaki and an English language e-magazine called ThinkChina.sg.
Huay Leng joined SPH in 1994 and held roles as a journalist, Hong Kong Correspondent, Beijing Bureau Chief, China Editor, News Editor and Deputy Editor of Lianhe Zaobao. She helmed the evening daily Lianhe Wanbao from 2014-2016. In December 2016, she was appointed Head of the Chinese Media Group and was re-designated to her current role with the formation of SPH Media Trust in 2021.
Huay Leng currently serves as a member of the Founders’ Memorial Committee, a board director of The Esplanade Co Ltd and Business China, and a board member of the Lee Kuan Yew Fund for Bilingualism. She received the Hsing Yun Journalism Award (Outstanding Achievement) in 2019.
In 2025, she was appointed as a Non-Executive and Independent Director of Wilmar International Limited.
Huay Leng graduated with an honours degree in Chinese Studies from the National University of Singapore and holds a Master of Arts degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She was an Asian Fellow at Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation, Harvard Kennedy School (2010-2011), and a Singapore Lien fellow of Lien Ying Chow Legacy Fellowship (2014).
Kuek Yu Chuang
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Yu Chuang is the Deputy CEO of SPH Media. He is responsible for overseeing commercial functions including brand, marketing, sales and subscription. Yu Chuang brings over 15 years of relevant experience including reach and engagement growth across different platforms, as well as delivering innovative solutions to clients.
Prior to joining SPH Media, Yu Chuang held executive positions at regional and global Internet companies including iQIYI, Netflix and Yahoo!. He also works with start-ups and ventures in the region.
Yu Chuang began his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Law.
Yu Chuang pursued his undergraduate studies at Peking University and obtained post-graduate degrees from Harvard University and INSEAD.
Tan Pei Jun
Chief Financial Officer & Chief Corporate Officer
Pei Jun is the Chief Financial Officer & Chief Corporate Officer of SPH Media. She leads the company’s Finance, Secretariat & Legal, Workplace Development & Services, and Communications, Engagement & Partnerships divisions.
Prior to joining SPH Media in 2024, Pei Jun was the CFO of Sembcorp Group’s decarbonisation solutions businesses, Hydrogen and GoNetZero™, and has held senior finance leadership roles in Sembcorp Industries across Singapore, Southeast Asia, and China. Before her tenure in Sembcorp, she spent 6 years in assurance work in PwC Singapore.
With more than 20 years of experience, her work covers a wide range of areas including corporate finance, investments decisions, banking and treasury, finance operations, risk management and internal controls.
Pei Jun holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University and is a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Chen Huifen
Editor, The Business Times
Huifen is the Editor of The Business Times (BT) of SPH Media. She is responsible for upholding the journalistic quality and integrity of the products under the BT brand. She aims to grow BT into a trusted source of business intelligence across multiple platforms and expand its audience reach in Southeast Asia.
Huifen joined SPH as a content producer for BT Online before branching out to become a journalist. In 2002, she left to teach English and International Understanding in rural Japan. Post-SARS, she returned to BT to develop a new beat in biomedical sciences and became the Founding Editor of BT’s bimonthly The SME Magazine in 2010.
She progressed to a full-time supervisory role in 2014 and was part of the task force steering the newsroom into adopting a digital-first mindset.
Huifen holds a Bachelor’s Degree In Communication Studies from Nanyang Technology University.
Choo Chee Wee
Editor, Shin Min Daily News
Chee Wee is the Editor, Shin Min Daily News in SPH Media.
Chee Wee joined SPH in 1990 and held various appointments ranging from Students’ Publications, Executive Editor of the evening dailies’, Executive Editor of the Central Integrated Newsroom and Lianhe Wanbao. He was the Associate Editor of Shin Min Daily News before taking on its editorship in 2017.
Chee Wee also serves as a Board Member at the National Environment Agency and a Council Member of the National Crime Prevention Council.
Goh Sin Teck
Editor, Lianhe Zaobao
Sin Teck joined Lianhe Zaobao, SPH Media’s Chinese flagship paper, in 1987 upon graduating from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. He started as a crime reporter before assuming his current role as the Editor of Lianhe Zaobao.
Sin Teck has served in various committees including Housing Development Board, Urban Redevelopment Authority Board, Public Transport Council, Primary Education Review and Implementation Committee, Singapore 21 Subcommittee on Foreign Talent, Charity Council, National Integration Council, Political Films Consultative Committee, Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning, and many more.
At present, he is a member of the National Translation Committee.
Jaime Ho
Editor, The Straits Times
Jaime is the Editor of The Straits Times, where he is responsible for all aspects of the newsroom’s operations and growth.
Before joining SPH Media in October 2022, Jaime’s career had spanned more than 25 years across journalism and the Singapore civil service. He served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1997 to 2013, overseeing issues such as bilateral relations with Europe and climate change, while also serving in Washington, D.C. and Geneva.
Jaime joined Mediacorp in 2013 as Associate Editor before becoming Deputy Chief Editor. He was appointed Chief Editor of CNA Digital in January 2016, a role he held until April 2022. Under his leadership, the team successfully navigated a period of significant audience growth, and the platform won several accolades. Jaime also wrote extensively at Mediacorp and fronted several broadcast events for CNA.
From June to October 2022, Jaime was also a Partner at FGS Global, a global strategic advisory, where he led its Singapore office and its operations locally and regionally.
Jaime graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 1997. He also holds a Master in Public Management from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy in 2006.
Mohd Nazry Mokhtar
Editor, Berita Harian
Mohd Nazry Mokhtar is the Editor of Berita Harian (BH). He manages the only Malay-language newspaper in Singapore and is responsible for the digital and print content that serves Malay/Muslim readers. BH covers developments related to the community as well as national, regional and global news and developments which are of importance and relevance to Malay/Muslim readers.
Nazry is also responsible for building talents within the newsroom and upholding journalistic standards and integrity as well as audience growth as part of Singapore’s largest omnichannel media network.
Nazry joined BH in 1995 and left the newsroom to join the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) in 2008. He was Deputy Director in the Public Communications Division before leaving the ministry in 2013 to rejoin BH as Deputy Editor.
T. Raja Segar
Editor, Tamil Murasu
Raja, a familiar figure to the local Indian community, is the Editor of Tamil Murasu.
Before joining SPH Media in April 2024, Raja was the Chief Executive of the Hindu Endowments Board, which manages all centralised functions supporting the four Hindu temples under the board in Singapore and a halfway house, the HEB-Ashram.
Raja was the Director of Strategic Planning and Coordination at the Singapore Institute of Technology from November 2015 to July 2017, and the Chief Executive of Sinda from December 2009 to June 2014. Raja was also an Assistant Vice President at MediaCorp, where in 2000 he launched Vasantham Central – a local television station catering to the Indian population in Singapore.
He has also had various stints over the years, including at Mindef’s Centre for Management Development and the Institute of Technical Education, and taught economics at Nanyang Polytechnic.
Raja graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science in 1988. He also holds a Diploma in Education from NIE and Master of Finance from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
Khaw Boon Wan
Chairman, SPH Media Holdings & SPH Media Trust
Mr Khaw Boon Wan is the Chairman of SPH Media Holdings & SPH Media Trust.
Mr Khaw served 42 years in the public service where he held various key cabinet appointments in the Transport, National Development, and Health ministries. He retired in 2020 as the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and the Minister for Transport.
Mr Khaw has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle in Australia under the Colombo Plan scholarship.
He was conferred the Public Administration Medal (Gold) in 1997 and the Medal of Honour by National Trades Union Congress in 2019.

Patrick Daniel
Director
Mr Patrick Daniel is a veteran journalist and editor with a three-decade career in the media. He joined SPH in 1986 as a Senior Writer in The Straits Times. He was Editor of The Business Times from 1992 to 2002, Managing Editor of SPH’s English, Malay and Tamil newspapers, and Editor-in-Chief from 2007 to 2016. He retired as Deputy CEO of SPH in 2017. Mr Daniel returned to the media industry in July 2021 when he took on the role of Interim CEO of SPH Media Trust. He stepped down from his interim role in March 2022.
Philip Lee Sooi Chuen
Director
Mr Philip Lee has over 30 years of banking experience, having been the Country Head and CEO of both JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank Singapore operations before becoming Vice-Chairman of Global Banking for South East Asia in HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited. Since 2016, Mr Lee has been serving as Chairman of the Health Promotion Board which is responsible for promoting healthy living and being the centre of excellence for health promotion, disease prevention and patient education in Singapore. Mr Lee is also a board director of both Savills Plc in London and Heliconia Capital Management Pte Ltd.
Lee Yi Shyan
Director
Mr Lee Yi Shyan serves as an advisor to OUE Ltd. He also chairs OUE Commercial REIT Management Pte. Ltd., OUE Lippo Healthcare Limited, and InterContinental Exchange (ICE) Singapore. For community service, Mr Lee chairs Business China and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chinese Development Assistance Council (CDAC). Mr Lee was the Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of National Development, Ministry of Trade & Industry and Ministry of Manpower. He stepped down as a Member of Parliament for East Coast GRC in 2020.
Lim Mei
Director
Ms Lim Mei has been a partner with Allen & Gledhill since 1996. She has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Ms Lim is also actively involved in the listing of nearly all of the structured warrant programmes on the Singapore Exchange. Her clients include large cap companies, MNCs, sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions and private equity firms.
Max Loh Khum Whai
Director
Mr Max Loh serves as Chairman of the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS), and as Audit & Risk Committee Chair of Enterprise Singapore and Building & Construction Authority. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants, CPA Australia and Singapore Institute of Directors. Mr Loh is experienced in assurance, strategic planning, reorganization, risk management and business transformation projects for companies as part of their globalization and transformation efforts. Mr Loh was the former Managing Partner of Ernst & Young in Asean and Singapore, until he retired in July 2022.
Bahren Shaari
Director
Mr Bahren Shaari was Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Singapore until he retired in December 2022. He was conferred the Singapore Institute of Banking and Finance Distinguished Fellow award in 2016, in recognition of his significant contribution to the financial industry and outstanding leadership. Mr Shaari is a member of the Council of Presidential Advisers and also serves on the Board of Trustees of the National University of Singapore.
Quah Ley Hoon
Director
Ms Quah Ley Hoon is the Group Chief Corporate Officer of CapitaLand Investment. She was formerly Chief Editor of Channel NewsAsia at Mediacorp. She has more than 15 years of experience in the public sector, working in various ministries and government agencies including as Chief Executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. Ms Quah currently serves on the Board of Defence, Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), and the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), as well as the President of the French Alumni. She was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) by the Singapore government in 2017 and conferred the Knight of the French Order of the Legion of Honor (Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur by the French government in 2022.)
Elaine Yew Wen Suen

Ms Elaine Yew joined Egon Zehnder in 2000, and is currently a Senior Partner and a founding leader of its Global Leadership Advisory Practice. She consults companies on succession planning for CEO, other C-level positions and Non-Executive positions, and also advises clients on CEO development, top team effectiveness, organisational culture and board effectiveness.
