SPH Media takes home most wins at WAN-IFRA’s Digital Media Awards Asia, including top nods in audience engagement

SPH Media won 9 prizes — five Gold and four Silvers — at the WAN-IFRA Digital Media Awards Asia 2025. This is the biggest haul among the publishers at this year’s prestigious awards, which recognise news media organisations that are leaders and innovators in the adoption of digital media strategies.
The Straits Times (ST) bagged seven awards, while our young audience products, HeyKaki and thrive, took home the other two prizes during the award ceremony at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre on 23 April.
Among these are the gold and silver awards for audience engagement. ST’s series of nine posters — each representing a music era — during Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore in March 2024 took home the gold.
Created by ST correspondent Yamini Chinnuswamy and executive artist Billy Ker, the posters featured hand-drawn illustrations and photographs that match each era, and were filled with factoids, achievements, and news from that period. It brought an increase in print sales of ST by more than 8,000 copies over the nine days that it ran, and over 4,000 downloads of the soft copies.

Meanwhile, the How Well Do You Know series by HeyKaki, won the silver in the same category. The videos, in Chinese with English subtitles, saw young Singaporeans challenging themselves on how well they know their siblings, dads, work besties, bros, and even couples.
