Gathering industry experts to share optimism about AI at The Business Times Leaders Breakfast

Events

South-east Asia’s leading financial daily, The Business Times (BT), has launched The Business Times Leaders Breakfast series with a session focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The speakers include:

  • Mr Wong Hwee Lim, head of CapitaLand Investment’s digital international department;
  • Dr Leslie Teo, senior director for AI products at AI Singapore, and
  • Mr Victor Liang, head of data science for geo services at Grab

Attended by a 40-strong audience at Capital Tower, the speakers addressed concerns such as how jobs will be affected by the automation of everyday tasks through AI. The session was sponsored by CapitaLand.

Throughout the discussion, the three panellists shared various perspectives on the adoption of AI. They agreed that AI is not just hype despite its current applications not yet meeting up to the expectations of the heavy investments into the technology.

Guests included CEOs and Managing Directors of established companies across Singapore such as StarHub, Swarovski, and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

BT’s deputy news editor Anita Gabriel hosted the event.
