PSLE forum provides an enriching experience for parents and brands

Events

For the first time since its inception in 2020, The Straits Times Smart Parenting PSLE Prep Forum offered commercial brands an opportunity to create awareness for their products that benefit students in its latest edition on 6 April.

Goodie bag sponsors BRAND’s Essence of Chicken, Tian Yuan Xiang Chicken Essence, and Stabilo provided product samples and deals for their online store platforms into the goodie bags distributed to about 200 parents in attendance.

As a booth sponsor, Stabilo also had the opportunity to display its products and provide exclusive offers for products sold on-site, engaging directly with its target audience.

Ms Erina Wong, Marketing Manager of Schwan-STABILO Singapore Pte Ltd said: “The forum provided an exceptional platform to engage with a receptive audience and showcase our latest innovation, MARKdry—a revolutionary whiteboard pencil designed never to dry up. This event facilitated meaningful interactions with attendees, enabling us to better comprehend their stationery usage requirements and preferences.”

Sharing sessions enlighten parents

Organised by The Straits Times (ST), The PSLE Prep Forum provides a platform for parents to get their questions answered about their child’s upcoming PSLE’s exam.

Held at SPH Media Auditorium, the forum was moderated by ST senior education correspondent Sandra Davie, who fielded questions together with Mr Ong Kong Hong, the Ministry of Education’s divisional director of curriculum planning and development division 1.

The lively discussion provided information for parents on topics such as how answer scripts are assessed, common mistakes made by students, as well as the perception of the number of pupils that can be awarded the top grade.

The forum also featured mathematics expert Mr Yeap Ban Har, who shared strategies and proven approaches to ace the PSLE math examinations.

Meanwhile, 40 Primary 6 students concurrently attended an English masterclass organised by ST.

Ms Wong said: “Overall, the Straits Times PSLE Forum was an enriching experience, fostering informative discussions and productive exchanges that undoubtedly benefited both parents and sponsors alike. We look forward to participating in future forums and continuing to contribute to the educational dialogue in our community.”
