In its second year as presenting sponsor, Singapore Pools continues its vision of rallying organisations to make a social impact and to share their corporate ethos of doing good.
It mounted a strong comeback at the final leg held at Laguna National Golf Resort Club to overcome its initial poor performance and take home the overall trophy.
Singapore Pools Chief, Risk & Compliance Tay Boon Khai told The Business Times, “We were glad we could lend support in bringing corporate golfers together. We are happy to note that many companies have pledged to take part again next year.”
Singapore Global Trust clinched second place followed by SPH Media in third.

This year, 14 teams from Singapore's corporate entities signed up for the five-leg golf league. These include Performance Motors, Takashimaya Singapore, Adidas Golf, CLA Global TS, ONERHT, I-Kare, OCBC Bank, Olam Group, Paragon Reit, Singapore Global Trust, Hugo Boss and KPMG. Teams could opt to play in either the competitive or social category.

Effective platform for networking and brand awareness
The Business Times editor Chen Huifen said: “The BT Corporate Golf League is held to celebrate friendships, connect acquaintances, and allow corporate and business leaders a common platform to have fun. It’s great to witness the camaraderie on and off the course despite the sometimes erratic weather. BT is honoured to have played a role in bringing many of our friends and networks together.”
The event also highlights sponsor brands among a curated audience of avid golfers and BT readers.
Performance Motors Ltd (PML), which finished fifth overall, offered to be the official automotive partner and hole-in-one sponsor of the league. An avid golfer, PML Managing Director Lawrence Tan hosted business partners and guests in the social flights as PML celebrates its 45th anniversary in Singapore. According to Mr Tan, PML has always regarded golf as a way to network.

Its brand new BMW iX and i5 were prominently displayed at each alternate leg of the tournament, which kicked off at Sentosa Golf Club, followed by Orchid Country Club, Tanah Merah Country Club, Seletar Country Club and Laguna National Golf Resort Club. Golfers stood a chance to win one of the cars if they managed a hole-in-one.

On the side, a BMW Golf Putting Challenge was also set up for fun, with exclusive gifts for those who put their skills to the test.

Apart from displaying its Tour360, Official Apparel partner, Adidas Golf also sponsored a Novelty Hole for Games 1 and 3 where winners could win Adidas products on the spot.

Novelty Hole and product sponsor Takashimaya gave away lucky draw prizes during the tournament.
